Buonasera, non riesco a capire per l'aumento del raglan taglia M:prima è scritto per 33 volte poi per 34 volte ed è giusto per arrivare a 420 maglie. È un errore la prima spiegazione? Grazie

Hi, I'm working on the size L. I've finished the sleeve-increases and am about to start the "body-only" increases (6 more times). Looking at the project photo, it seems like the raglan holes disappear or change in this section. Should I continue using the YO method as described in the raglan section? Or should I switch to a different increase method like M1L/M1R to make it look seamless like the photo? Thank you!

Dear 조영, just continue increasing as before, this means with a yarn over worked twisted as explained above under RAGLAN but the yarn overs will be now only worked at the end of left front piece + at the beg of back piece + at the end of back piece + at the beg of right front piece (=4 sts increased only). Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. BANDS WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1, work 5 garter stitches. END OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Work until there are 7 stitches left on the row, work 5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1. Work like this from both the right and wrong side. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next row (wrong side): BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCHES (yarn over twists to the left): Purl through the stitch-loop which lies on the back of the needle to avoid a hole. AFTER RAGLAN-STITCHES (yarn over twists to the right): Slip the yarn over purl-wise from the left to the right needle, then replace it on the left needle by inserting the left needle through the back of the yarn over, which is now turned. Purl through the stitch-loop which lies on the front of the needle to avoid a hole. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band (when the garment is worn) from the right side, when there are 5 stitches left on the row as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knitting the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked on the first row from the right side after the neck is finished. Then work the other 5-5-6-6-6-6-7 buttonholes with 7½-8-7-7-7½-8-7 cm between each one. The bottom buttonhole is worked in the transition between the stocking stitch and rib. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 136-140-148-152-156-164-168 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 mm and DROPS Flora. Work the first row as follows from the right side: 7 stitches according to BANDS WITH I-CORD – read explanation above, work rib (knit 2, purl 2) until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and work 7 stitches according to bands with I-cord. Continue this rib back and forth for 2-2-2½-2½-3-3-3 cm, with the last row from the wrong side. Insert 1 marker inside one band (mid-front); the piece is measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Insert 4 other markers, without working the stitches and each marker inserted between 2 knitted stitches (raglan-stitches). You increase for raglan on each side of these 2 stitches. Count 28-28-32-32-32-36-36 stitches (= left front piece), insert marker-1 before the next stitch, count 20 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-2 before the next stitch, count 40-44-44-48-52-52-56 stitches (= back piece), insert marker-3 before the next stitch, count 20 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-4 before the next stitch. There are 28-28-32-32-32-36-36 stitches left (= right front piece). Work stocking stitch back and forth, with the bands as before and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches – read explanation above for how to work the yarn overs on the next row. Remember the first BUTTONHOLE – read explanation above. Increase for raglan every 2nd row, on each side of all raglan-stitches, 27-30-34-36-38-38-39 times = 352-380-420-440-460-468-480 stitches (8 increased stitches on each increase-row). Remember to maintain the knitting tension. The sleeve-increases are finished but continue increasing on the front and back pieces every 2nd row 6-5-4-6-6-10-12 more times = 376-400-436-464-484-508-528 stitches (= 4 increased stitches on each increase-row). Continue working without further increases until the yoke measures 20-21-23-25-26-28-30 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Work the 7 band-stitches plus the next 54-56-63-67-69-77-80 stitches as before (= front piece), place the next 74-80-88-92-96-96-98 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-14-20-24-28 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work 106-114-120-132-140-148-158 stitches (= back piece), place the next 74-80-88-92-96-96-98 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-14-20-24-28 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work the next 54-56-63-67-69-77-80 stitches plus the 7 band-stitches as before (= front piece). the body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 244-260-284-308-332-364-388 stitches. Continue stocking stitch and the bands as before until the piece measures 38-40-42-44-46-48-50 cm from the marker mid-front. On the next row from the right side begin the rib, AT THE SAME TIME increase 52-56-64-72-76-80-88 stitches evenly on the first row (do not increase across the bands) = 296-316-348-380-408-444-476 stitches, working as follows: Change to circular needle size 2.5 mm, work the band as before, then rib (knit 2, purl 2 – remember to increase) until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and work the band as before. When the rib measures 3 cm, cast off with knit above knit and purl above purl. The jacket measures approx. 41-43-45-47-49-51-53 cm from the marker mid-front and 45-47-49-51-53-55-57 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 74-80-88-92-96-96-98 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 3 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-10-12-14-20-24-28 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 82-90-100-106-116-120-126 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 8-10-12-14-20-24-28 stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 1 cm from the division, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 3-2½-1½-1½-1½-3-4 cm a total of 5-6-7-6-6-3-2 times = 72-78-86-94-104-114-122 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 15-14-12-11-11-9-7 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 16-18-18-22-24-26-26 stitches evenly on the first round = 88-96-104-116-128-140-148 stitches. When the rib measures 3 cm, cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 18-17-15-14-14-12-10 cm from the division. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
