Liebe Frau Portmann, stimmt Ihre Maschenprobe?

I have reached Row 24 and I don't understand it at all...Do you have a video turorial for row 24?
31.10.2016 - 17:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Della, Row 24 is worked from WS, ie turn work, and work now with dc group = [2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 11 dc, then work 1st row in A.2]. Repeat from [ to ] aroundn and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round, turn and work next row from RS. Continue like this, inc in the dc group and continuing A.2 alternately from RS and from WS. Happy crocheting!

Many thanks. Your answer and attached lesson answered my question. I am so anxious to finish my two sleeves. What are your recommendations as to blocking this jacket? Do you do anything additional to the ends except to weave them back in...i.e. fabric glue? Again many thanks for this gorgeous jacket pattern.
10.10.2016 - 22:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, you can simply wash/moisten the finished jacket and let dry it flat (see here) to the finished measurement. Your DROPS store may have more tips for you. The video below shows how to weave in Cotton tails. Happy crocheting!

09.10.2016 - 18:45DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, in size S/M you dec alternately every 3rd and 2nd row, ie as follows: *Row 1: dec row - Row 2, 3: work without dec - Row 4: dec row - Row5: work without dec* - repeat from *-* until 54 sts remain. Read more here. Happy crocheting!

Regarding directions for Sleeves (Size S/M): Please clarify what "Dec 1 st each side of piece alternately every 3rd and 2nd Row 16 times in total" means. I'm on the home stretch and it's beautiful. Many thanks.
09.10.2016 - 17:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, you've to decrease at each side as follows: work a row decreasing at the beginning and at the end as stated in the decreasing tip, the work 2 rows without increases and increase on the 3rd row, then work 1 row without increase and increase on the 2nd row, and so on. Happy crocheting!

My problem is that when I stopped on Row 53 with the Row 2 of A.2, that left (2dc/3tr/picot/3tr/2dc) between Markers 2&3 and 4&1. Now, when I am doing the EDGE around the whole jacket, the edging will not be nice and straight because I ended on a partial A.2. Does this make sense?
29.09.2016 - 17:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, you may have to finish a whole repeat of A.2 in height before working each front piece separately, so that the dge will then fit. Happy crocheting!

Linda Adams wrote:
My question was: What row of A.2 is worked in Row 53? My Row 53 had the (2dc/3tr/picot/3tr/2dc) A.2 row. This does not make for a nice even EDGE which I'm doing now. I'm thinking that I should have done 2 more rows, so that I finished with a whole repetition of A.2, ending with the (9dc) A.2. Thanks in advance for helping me get this EDGE correct.
29.09.2016 - 14:04DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, A.2 should be repeated in height as before, ie if you worked row 1 in A.2 (2ch, 2dc,3ch,2dc,2ch) on row 52 then you were correct to work row 2 in A.2 on row 53 - finish front piece after 10 cm have been worked for the front piece, adjusting after a whole repetition of A.2, ie work some more/less rows if necessary so that last row on front piece is last row in A2. Happy crocheting!

I think I have made a HUGE mistake and I don't know where I made it. I finished 52 rounds, as per the directions for S/M. This took me through the 1st row of A.2s. Then, I did Round 53 and inserted my 4 markers, this round took me through the 2nd row of A.2s. I then finished the right front piece and the left front piece. Last night I started the edge around the entire jacket. Now, I am wondering if I should have inserted my markers on a completed repetition of A.2s?
28.09.2016 - 18:06DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adams, when working row 53 from WS inserting marker, you will have: 14 dc, marker 1, 15 dc (A.2, 29 dc) x 4, marker 2 (from RS right front piece starts with 29 dc and ends with 15 dc) - and for left front piece (from WS): marker 3, (29 dc, A.2)x4, 15 dc, marker 4 (= from RS left front piece starts with 15 dc and ends with 29 dc). Happy crocheting!

ROW 30 (= from WS): Work 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2 as before, 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2, 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2 (adjust row according to the other repetitions), 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2, * 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2 *, repeat from *-* 5 times in total, 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2, 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2, 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2, 1 1 tr in each of the next 18-22-22 tr, A.2 = 234-286-286 tr and 13 A.2. Work pattern as before but now inc only on every row from RS until 52-52-60 rows have been worked in total = 377-429-481 tr (29-33-37 tr in every tr-group). Insert 4 markers in the piece as follows from WS: Work 29-33-37 tr, A.2, 14-16-18 tr, insert 1st marker, work 15-17-19 tr, * A.2, 29-33-37 tr *, repeat from *-* 4 times in total, insert 2nd marker here (1st-2nd marker = right front piece). Work A.2, 29-33-37 tr, A.2, 29-33-37 tr and A.2, insert 3rd marker here. * Work 29-33-37 tr, A.2 *, repeat from *-* 4 times in total, 15-17-19 tr, insert 4th marker. (3rd-4th marker = left front piece), 14-16-18 tr, A.2. Tr between 1st and 4th marker are up towards neck. Fasten off. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Now work right front piece between 1st and 2nd marker, beg from 2nd marker (i.e. from RS) = 131-149-167 tr and 4 A.2. Continue inc in tr-groups as before BUT do not inc in tr-groups in each side of front piece - AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 tr at beg of every row by CROCHET 3 TR TOG - see explanation above. Work until 10-12-12 cm over front piece have been worked, adjust to finish with 1 whole repetition of A.2. Fasten off. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work left front piece between 3rd and 4th marker the same way as right front piece, beg from 4th marker (i.e. from RS). EDGE: Work an edge around the entire jacket as follows: Work the first 2 rounds of A.2, when working first round of A.2 over tr-rows, skip 2 tr-rows on each side of tr-group. Beg every round with 3 ch and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch. SLEEVES: Work back and forth from armhole and down, work every row tog with 1 sl st at the end of row. Insert 1 marker in piece, NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Beg by working 86-94-102 tr evenly around the opening for sleeve, beg of row should be under sleeve. Then work 3 rows with 1 tr in every tr. Continue with 1 tr in every tr - AT THE SAME TIME dec differently in the different sizes as follows: READ DECREASE TIP! SIZE S/M: Dec 1 st in each side of piece alternately every 3rd and 2nd row 16 times in total = 54 tr. SIZE L/XL: Dec 1 st in each side of piece every other row 20 times in total = 54 tr. SIZE XXL/XXXL: Dec 1 st in each side of piece every other row 24 times = 54 tr. ALL SIZES: Work 1 tr in every tr until sleeve measures approx. 47 cm, adjust so that next row is from WS. Then work the first 2 rounds of A.2 (= 6 repetitions in width). Fasten off. Work the other sleeve the same way. |
