Bon crochet!

I followed the pattern with exact measurements and used an 8mm hook. Ive tried the pattern 4 times but every time the heel protrudes out way further then the rest of the slipper causing a bulge. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the pattern is meant to have a bulge in the heel. I got my niece to try the pattern out too and she can't figure out the issue either. I look forward to your response. thank you so much.

Dag Tineke,

I do not completely understand the assembly- when I work the whole seam, it forms a sharp point at the toes, or what do you mean by "sowing from edge to edge"? Thank you

Dear Mrs Bouwer, the video below shows how to sew slipper tog, ie from under foot and along mid back. Happy assembly!

CROCHET DC TOG: Crochet 2 dc tog into 1 dc as follows: Insert hook in first st, pull thread through, insert hook in next st, pull thread through, make a YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook. ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth, top down. Work 22-26-26 loose ch on hook size 8 mm with 2 strands Puddel. Work 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 1 dc in every ch the entire row = 21-25-25 dc. Continue back and forth with 1 dc in every dc - NOTE: Work 1 ch at beg of every row before working 1 dc in every dc, this ch does NOT replace first dc. It is for turning and is in addition to no of sts. When piece measures approx. 13 cm, switch to 2 strands Big Fabel or 4 strands Fabel. Continue as before with dc. When piece measures 17-17-18 cm, work as follows: ROW 1: Work 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8-10-10 dc, 2 dc in next dc, 1 ch, skip next dc, 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8-10-10 dc and 2 dc in last dc, turn piece. ROW 2: Work 1 dc in each of the first 12-14-14 dc, 7 tr around ch and 1 dc in each of the last 12-14-14 dc = 31-35-35 sts, turn piece. ROW 3: Work 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in each of the next 13-15-15 sts, 2 dc in next st, 1 ch, skip the next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 13-15-15 sts and 2 dc in last st, turn piece. ROW 4: Work 1 dc in each of the first 17-19-19 dc, 7 tr around ch and 1 dc in each of the last 17-19-19 dc = 41-45-45 sts, turn piece. ROW 5: Work 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in each of the next 18-20-20 sts, 2 dc in next st, 1 ch, skip the next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 18-20-20 sts and 2 dc in last st, turn piece. ROW 6: Work 1 dc in each of the first 22-24-24 dc, 7 tr around ch and 1 dc in each of the last 22-24-24 dc = 51-55-55 sts, turn piece. Finish inc for SIZE 35/37 and 38/40 here. SIZE 41/43: ROW 7: Work 1 dc in each of the next 27 sts, 1 ch, skip next st and work 1 dc in each of the next 27 sts, turn piece. ROW 8: Work 1 dc in each of the first 27 dc, 7 tr around ch and 1 dc in each of the last 27 dc = 61 sts, turn piece. ALL SIZES: After last inc there are 51-55-61 sts on row. Continue back and forth with 1 dc in every st until 1 row remains before piece measures 27-28-29 cm (measure straight down along one side of slipper from the straight edge at the top of leg). On next row work the first 2 and the last 2 dc on row tog into 1 dc – SEE EXPLANATION ABOVE (work the other dc as before) = 49-53-59 dc. Fasten off. ASSEMBLY: Start under the foot at the front of toe. Sew tog edge to edge in front loop of outermost st to avoid a chunky seam. Sew tog mid under foot, up along the heel mid back and to the top of the slipper. Fasten off. Crochet another slipper. |
