Hi! Knitted the socks with Eskimo wool and they 've been looking awesome! However after a few days wearing them they are fuzzing a lot and they are felting. What can I so about this? Martina
18.10.2020 - 19:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Martina, it looks right that yarn often have some excess of fibers that might come off - felting can also happens by friction - if you have any doubt please contact your DROPS store showing them your socks (sending them pictures if necessary) - they will help you. Happy knitting!

20.03.2018 - 14:53DROPS Design answered:

When piece measures 14 cm [5½"] dec 1 st in each P4 section = 30 sts. All sizes: When piece measures 26-28-30 cm [10,25"- 11"- 11,75"] keep the first 7-7-8 sts on needle, put the next 14 sts on a thread (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 7-7-8 sts on needle = 14-14-16 sts for heel. Knit 5-6-7 cm [2"- 2,6"- 2,75"] stockinette sts back and forth on needle over the heel sts. Insert a marker in the middle and measure foot length from this point. At the same time dec as follows: Knit tog the 2 sts before the Rib into back of st and knit tog the 2 sts after the Rib on every other row a total of 5-6-7 times = 24-26-28 sts. Continue until foot measures approx 18-20-22 cm [7"- 8"- 8,75"] from the heel. Insert a marking thread each side (= 12-13-14 sts between each marker) and continue in stockinette sts over all sts. At the same time dec for toe on both sides of each marking thread as follows: K2 tog, K1, marker, K1, K2 tog into back of st. Repeat the dec on every other row a total of 3 times and then on every row 1-1-2 times = 8-10-8 sts left. On next row knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through remaining sts. Sew.
