Bon crochet!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for size of basket (applies to A.1/A.2). A.1 = small basket. A.2 = large basket. The diagrams show the colors in the pattern. 1 square = 1 single crochet. DOUBLE-STRAND TIP: Use the strand from both the inside and outside of the ball. When changing balls it is a good idea not to change both strands at the same time – the strand fastenings will then be less noticeable. COLOR PATTERN: When changing colors in A.3 work as follows: Work the last single crochet with the old color but wait with the last pull-through, change to the new color and work the last pull-through, then the next single crochet. When working with 2 colors, lay the color you are not working with over the stitches from the previous round and work around the strand so that it is invisible and carried on. CROCHET INFORMATION: At the beginning of each round of single crochets, work 1 chain stitch which replaces the first single crochet; i.e. skip the first stitch on the previous round. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch at the beginning of the round. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- BASKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The basket is worked in the round with 2 strands of each color - read DOUBLE-STRAND TIP. You can work either a small or a large basket. BASKET: Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 6 mm = US J/10 and 1 strand red and 1 strand off-white (= 2 strands) and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then work PATTERN – read description above, in the round according to diagram A.1/A.2 (choose the diagram for the small or large basket)– read COLOR PATTERN. ROUND 1: Read CROCHET INFORMATION! Work 6 single crochets around the ring (= 6 repeats of A.1/A.2) ROUND 2: Work 2 single crochets in each single crochet = 12 single crochets. ROUND 3: Work * 1 single crochet in the first single crochet, 2 single crochets in the next single crochet *, work from *-* to end of round = 18 single crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! ROUND 4: Work * 1 single crochet in each of the first/next 2 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next single crochet *, work from *-* to end of round = 24 single crochets. ROUND 5: Work * 1 single crochet in each of the first/next 3 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next single crochet *, work from *-* to end of round = 30 single crochets. ROUND 6: Work * 1 single crochet in each of the first/next 4 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next single crochet *, work from *-* to end of round = 36 single crochets. Continue with increases and pattern like this, i.e. each round you will get 1 more single crochet between increases until you have worked 12-14 rounds. When all the increases and A.1/A.2 are finished in height there are 72-84 single crochets on the round and the piece measures approx. 20-23 cm = 8"-9" in diameter. Now continue in the round according to diagram A.3 as follows: Work A.3 a total of 6-7 times on the round. When A.3 is finished, cut and fasten the strands. |
