Our videos do not have sound. We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people speaking endless of different languages and many do not understand English. So since there is not a given language for us to use, we instead have written instructions to accompany the video, and then there is no sound to disturb while watching.

Tack!

Please go slower! I am a "thrower" (I throw the yarn over the knitting as I work it) so by the time I understood how you knit, the video was over. I missed the short row part. Also, many countries do understand English as a second language. Try it, that might also work in having explanations.

In this DROPS video we show how to work an elevation with short rows. This technique is frequently used in our patterns for pants or in back of neck on jumpers and jackets. In this video we work from beginning of round (= marker / mid back) as follows: K10 sts, turn piece (to avoid holes, we slip first st on return and tighten the thread). K20 st, turn piece, K30 st, turn piece and K40, turn piece. Finally we work one round in stocking st over all sts. We now have an elevation (= more rows) mid back of the piece. REMEMBER - you will need to read the specific pattern to be able to follow. To see a pattern using this technique, go to: BabyDROPS 21-36 (pants) or DROPS 165-14 (jumper)
In this DROPS video we show how to work separate heel with short rows for socks worked back and forth. We have already worked the top of the leg and downwards to where the piece measures 12 cm. Starting from RS: * K 6, turn and K 5 back, inc by K 2 sts in last st on row, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. * K 8, turn and K 6 back, dec by K tog the last 2 sts, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. Work 1 row over all sts - insert a marker on this row - now measure piece from here. Continue working as follows, starting from WS: * P 6, turn and P 5 back, inc by P 2 sts in last st on row, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. * P 8, turn and P 6 back, dec by P tog the last 2 sts, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times = 18-18-19 sts. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern to be able to follow. To see a pattern with this technique, go to: DROPS 131-25
In this video we show how you can knit stripes in garter st and at the same time short rows. Knit as follows: 1st row (= RS): Work until 2 sts remain, turn and work back, work until 4 sts remain, turn and work back. Continue like this (work 2 sts less than previous time) until the last 2 sts on needle have been worked back and forth. Knit at the same time the stripes. Then K two rows (1 ridge) over all sts To see a pattern with this technique, see: DROPS 155-1 or click on the picture to the left.
Que difereencia hay entre la tecnica basica de vueltas cortas y la otra con la hebra de lana en el LD? El resultado que se logra es el mismo?
