Pompoms in Kid Silk

You can make pom pom in many different sizes. In this DROPS video we have made a large and medium compact (blue), a small and compact(green) and big and fluffy pompom (pink). Pompon can be used in very much things, on hats, on slippers, scarfs and various accessories etc. Let your imagination go wild! To see how to make a pompom, see:

Bonjour Maud, cette vidéo montre comment faire un pompon, ce sera la même technique quelque soit la laine utilisée. Le métrage nécessaire dépendra de la taille souhaitée pour le pompon et également de la densité du pompon (vous aurez besoin de davantage de laine pour un pompon dense et bien épais). Bon tricot!

Smooth out curly yarn – small tassel

The yarn inside a yarn ball may be curly. In this DROPS video we show a simple way to correct / smooth out the yarn. Make the tassel and put it in water and then squeeze the water out. Shake then very hard (much harder than we show in the video). When dry and after the tassels are much more smoothed out. Give the tassel one last cut. Pompom - attach

One can attach a pompom in different ways. Here we show how we attach first on the right side and then on the wrong side of a hat. Make sure the thread is tied tight around the center of the pompom. If the thread is tied too loose the strands in the pompom will easily slip out.

Tassel

Use a piece of cardboard the same length as the tassel and wind the yarn round the cardboard to desired thickness. Tie a string round the tassel at one end and cut the yarn at the other end.
