EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2. A.2 shows how the rounds start/finish.

-------------------------------------------------------

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

CUSHION COVER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The cushion cover is worked in the round, but is turned after each round and worked back and forth on each round so that the texture is the same the whole way through. The cushion cover is sewn top and bottom to finish.

CUSHION COVER:
Work 168 chain stitches and fasten them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Turn the piece and work 1 chain stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 5 chain stitches. Then work as follows: * Skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 single crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches*, repeat from *-* to end of round, fasten with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch on the round = 144 single crochets. Turn, work 1 chain stitch, then work 1 single crochet in each single crochet on the round. Finish the round with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GUAGE! Now work according to diagrams A.1 and A.2 as follows: Work 3 chain stitches (=A.2), 24 repeats of A.1 and finish the round with a slip stitch in the 3rd stitch on the round (A.2), turn and continue working according to the diagrams. NOTE: A.2 is not counted in the number of stitches. Continue this pattern upwards until the piece measures approx. 40 cm = 15 3/4”, work 1 round of single crochets, cut the strand and pull it through.

ASSEMBLY: Sew the top seam, edge to edge in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. Place the cushion in the cover and sew the bottom seam.
