INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN:

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.5.

INCREASE TIP:
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, on the next round, purl the yarn over twisted to prevent a hole.

RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.
----------------------------------------------------------

SKIRT:
The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, top down.
Cast on 90-105-120-135-135-150 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and Merino Extra Fine. Knit 1 round. The next round is worked as follows: * Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 1, knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* to end of round. Continue the rib in this way. When the piece measures 4-4-4-5-6-7 cm work a row of holes as follows: * Knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, purl 2, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, purl 2, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, purl 1, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, purl 2 *, work from *-* to end of round. Continue with rib until the piece measures 8-9-9-11-13-15 cm. Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Insert 1 marker - THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE!
Now work as follows: * Purl 6, A.1 (= 9 stitches) *, work from *-* to end of round (= 6-7-8-9-9-10 repeats of A.1). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Continue the pattern as follows: Work A.1 1-1-1-1-2-2 times in height, A.2 1-1-1-1-1-1 time in height, A.3 1-1-1-2-2-2 times in height, A.4 1-1-1-1-1-1 time in height and A.5 2-2-3-3-3-4 times in height.
AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 3 cm increase 1 stitch at the beginning of every purl section (= 6-7-8-9-9-10 stitches increased). Increase in this way every 1½-1½-2-2-2-2 cm a total of 10-9-9-9-10-11 times, but increase alternately at the end and beginning of each purl section (i.e. the next time you increase, increase at the end of each purl section, then at the beginning of each purl section, etc.). When you have completed A.1 to A.5, there are 174-196-224-252-261-300 stitches on the needle. Continue with A.5 until the piece measures approx. 17-17-21-24-26-29 cm from the marker (or to desired length). Work 2 RIDGES over all stitches – see description above and cast off with knit. The whole skirt measures approx. 26-27-31-36-40-45 cm from the cast-on edge and down.

TIE CORD:
Cut 3 strands Merino Extra Fine of 3½ meters each. Twist them together until they begin to resist, fold the cord double and it will continue to twist on its own. Tie a knot in each end. Start mid front and thread the cord up and down through the row of holes. Tie a bow mid front.

CROCHET EDGE:
Crochet an edge at the bottom of the skirt with Merino Extra Fine and hook size 3.5 mm as follows: 1 double crochet in first stitch, * 3 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet in the first chain stitch worked, skip forwards approx. 1½ cm, work 1 double crochet in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round, finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet.

Melinda Green 23.10.2018 - 04:32:

Hello, Sorry but I still don't understand. I am to purl 6, knit the 1st row of the A:1 pattern and repeat 8 times to finish the round. The next row I would knit 6 (row prior was purl 6), and then this is where I get confused. The 2nd row of the A:1 pattern says to knit. But when I do this it looks like garter stitch. Can you please explain it in detail for me? I have undone it 4 times now !! Thank you.

DROPS Design 23.10.2018 kl. 10:01:

Dear Mrs Green, the sts in diagrams will be knitted on every round, but when working pattern you will have to work as explained, ie with P sts between diagrams - these purled stitches will be worked P on every round between diagrams (A.1 then between A.2, A.3, A.4 and A.5). Happy knitting!

Melinda Green 21.10.2018 - 00:21:

Hello, I hope I can explain my properly. Within the patterns A1 to A5 every alternate row the pattern says to knit. Should it not be purl every second row? Thank you.

DROPS Design 22.10.2018 kl. 08:34:

Dear Mrs Green, the skirt is worked in the round, so that you will knit every alternate round to get a stocking stitch pattern - but should you work the diagrams back and forth then every other row in diagrams should have to been purled. Happy knitting!

Melinda Green 26.09.2018 - 17:46:

Hello, This is going to be a challenge but I'm going for it! Knitting 7/8 size. Knitted intial (band) 5 cm with 135 stitches. After finishing the 2nd part of the band up to 11cm I only have 99 stitches. Is this correct or should I still have 135 stitches. If I am wrong can you give some advice on where I have gone wrong? Thank you

DROPS Design 27.09.2018 kl. 08:22:

Dear Mrs Green, after the lace row you should have the same number of sts = 135 sts since each decrease on this row is compensated by a yarn over, ie when piece measures 11 cm you have still 135 sts. Happy knitting!

Ulla 23.09.2018 - 17:40:

Guten Tag. Meine Konfektionsgröße ist 36, also ungefähr 164 in Kindergröße.

Thank you for your quickly answer

Sophia 21.09.2018 - 09:19:

I knit size 5/6 cast on 120st.i am a little confused with inc. pattern say inc 1st at the beginning of every purl section 8st inc total 9 times . At the end there are 224st .but if I inc8st in every round for 9times I have 72st + 120 =192st.where is my mistake?

DROPS Design 21.09.2018 kl. 09:50:

Dear Sophia, you will increase in the purl-sections but at the same time you will work: A.1, A.2, A.3, A.4 (all these diagrams 1 time in height) and A.5 (twice in height), and in A.2 and A.4 you will increase 2 sts on last row in these both diagrams = 16 sts increased on last row in A.2 and A.4 = 32 sts increased in pattern + 72 sts increased in P sts = 224 sts. Happy knitting!

Lissy 03.09.2018 - 00:53:

DROPS Design 03.09.2018 kl. 15:49:

Hej Lissy, Du strikker (6 masker vrang + A.1) ialt 9 gange hele vejen rundt. Det bliver da ialt 9 rapporter med A.1. God fornøjelse!

Vibeke Holm Løffgren 11.06.2018 - 01:16:

Luisa 02.05.2018 - 21:58:

Hallo liebes Drops-Team!
