See diagrams A.1 to A.4.

Piece is worked as 2 scarves and then sewn together into a poncho.

Work 63-75-87-99 chain stitches on hook size 5 mm / H/8 with Paris. Work 1 single crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook (= 2 single crochet), 1 single crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* the entire row = 48-57-66-75 single crochet. Then work as follows - begin on 2nd row in diagram (= right side): Work A.1A (= 1 stitch), A.2 over the next 5 single crochet, A.3 over the next 36-45-54-63 single crochet (4-5-6-7 repetitions of 9 stitches), A.4 over the next 5 single crochet and then A.1B (= 1 stitch). Continue pattern back and forth as shown in diagrams. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! When A.1 to A.4 has been worked 1 time vertically, repeat the last 4 rows in diagrams until piece measures approx. 68-75-83-90 cm / 26 3/4"-29½"-32 3/4"-35½". Fasten off. Work another part the same way.

Place bind-off edge on 2nd part towards right long side on 1st part (seen from right side) - from the corner and 38-45-53-60 cm / 15"-17 3/4"-21"-23½" upwards – make sure not to stretch the piece too much. Sew the 2 parts together with neat little stitches - this is the front on poncho. Then sew cast-on edge on 1st part to right side on 2nd part the same way. NOTE: You can also crochet the parts together as follows: 1 single crochet in first stitch on 2nd part, 1 single crochet in first stitch on 1st part, * 2 chain stitches, skip approx. 1 cm / 3/8'', 1 single crochet in next stitch on 2nd part, 1 chain stitch, 1 single crochet in next stitch on 2nd part *, repeat from *-* along the entire edge. Fasten off.

Yvette Treglia 04.03.2019 - 08:55:

DROPS Design 01.06.2018 kl. 15:33:

Vanessa 24.02.2018 - 13:37:

In the written instructions, you say that “when A.1 to A.4 has been worked 1time vertically, repeat the last 4 rows in diagrams...”. I’m confused; should we ignore A.1B? What should I do at the end of A.4 when that section in the pattern shows a chain stitch at the end (e.g. the first row we need to repeat, after the last double crochet around chain space). Grateful for your help!

DROPS Design 26.02.2018 kl. 10:29:

Dear Vanessa, you should repeat the diagrams as before in width, but repeating only the last 4 rows in each of the diagrams. Happy crocheting!

Liz Robledo 17.02.2017 - 17:00:

HELP!!!! Is it possible to give written institutions for the Arabella poncho rather than the diagram to follow. I've tried and tried for hours that I had to give up. Thank you, Liz Robledo

DROPS Design 20.02.2017 kl. 11:17:

Dear Mrs Robledo, there is only diagram to this pattern, for any assistance reading diagrams, you are welcome to contact the store where you bought your yarn, they'll explain you how to work them. Happy crocheting!
