Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in American English, please click here.
See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show colours in pattern. 1 square = 1 tr.

Use yarn from both inside and outside of the ball. When switching to a new ball, try to avoid switching both strands at the same time - to avoid a thick yarn when fastening.

COLOUR PATTERN (worked in the round):
When changing colour work as follows: Work last tr with first colour but wait with last pull through, switch to next colour and work last pull through, then work next tr. When working with two colour place strands for the colour not worked over sts from previous round, work around the strands so that they are hidden and follows in the round.

Replace first tr at beg of every round with 3 ch, finish round with 1 sl st in third ch.

Dec 1 tr by working 2 tr tog as follows:
Work 1 tr but wait with last pull through, (= 2 loops on hook), work next tr but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook.

BAG: Work in the round with 2 strands of each colour - READ DOUBLE YARN TIP.

Work 5 ch with 2 threads shocking pink on hook size 4.5 mm and form a ring with one sl st in first ch. Then work in the round and according to A.1 (work 12 repetitions of A.1 in width) - READ COLOUR PATTERN.
ROUND 1: Work 12 tr in ring – read CROCHET INFO.
ROUND 2: Work 2 tr in every tr = 24 tr.
ROUND 3: Work * 1 tr in first tr, 2 tr in the next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36 tr.
ROUND 4: Work * 1 tr in each of the first 2 tr, 2 tr in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 48 tr. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
ROUND 5-10: Continue with inc and pattern as before, i.e. on every round work 1 more tr between inc = 120 tr.
ROUND 11: Work last round in A.1, AT THE SAME TIME dec 4 tr evenly, dec by working 2 and 2 tr tog = 116 tr.
ROUND 12: Continue working in the round, but without inc and work according to A.2 (= 7 repetitions in width), AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round in A.2 dec 4 tr evenly = 112 tr. Continue until A.2 has been worked, fasten off.

Cut 6 lengths of each colour of 120 cm = 36 strands. Place the strands tog and tie a loose knot, leave approx. 12 cm after knot. Distribute strands in 3 piles with 12 strands in each pile. Plait the three piles tog until plait measures approx. 68 cm. Divide the end of the plait into 2. Thread the 2 halves through bag, 1 tr apart, in third round from edge. Tie them tog in a knot on the front of bag. Untie the knot in the beg of the plait and fasten it to bag the same way but in the opposite side. Make another plait the same way - see photo.

Santangeli Emanuela 21.02.2018 - 14:24:

Bon tricot!

Romig 28.03.2017 - 03:17:

I the 2nd part of your pattern the centers are not lined up. The center space between the bottom triangles should be lined up with the center STAR symbol to make the pattern agree with the entire sequence. Even the bag in the picture is not done correctly because the pattern printed is staggered. When I corrected this and lined it all up, everything became totally in alignment.

Matilda 02.03.2017 - 13:24:

DROPS Design 02.03.2017 kl. 15:44:

Hej Matilda. Der er 11 varv i A.1

Nathalie 30.01.2017 - 14:47:

Hana

Rosalee 04.10.2016 - 17:57:

In reading the beginning the pattern.. You begin with 5 stitches and work into the A.1 pattern. I don't understand you begin with 5 stitches with one being a slip - but the A.1 pattern is 10 stitches. Then the 10 stitch pattern in Round 1 turns into 12 stitches. Is it possible because you are crocheting in a round (and need to keep counting stitches)?

DROPS Design 05.10.2016 kl. 08:29:

Dear Rosalee, you begin with a ring of 5 ch joined in the round with a sl st and then work A.1 reading diagram from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left on every round, ie 1 st a total of 12 times, ie work as explained in the written pattern: Round 1: 12 sts, And then round 2 to 10: inc rounds (you will inc 1 st in each diagram = 12 sts inc on each round). Happy crocheting!
