Row 1: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*.
Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row.

DECREASE TIP (applies to toes):
All dec are done from RS. Dec by K 2 sts tog.

The slipper beg at the heel and is worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 44-52-52 sts on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ with Eskimo and work in seed st - see explanation above.
When piece measures 7-7-8 cm / 2 3/4"-2 3/4"-3 1/8", bind off the outermost 10-12-12 sts in the left side (bind off at beg of a row from WS) = 34-40-40 sts.
When piece measures 11-12-14 cm / 4 3/8"-4 3/4"-5½", work the first 10-12-12 sts in the right side, and then slip them on a stitch holder = 24-28-28 sts. Continue in seed st.
When piece measures 17-20-23 cm / 6 3/4"-8"-9", dec 1 st in each side on every other row a total of 5 times - See decrease tip = 14-18-18 sts on row.
Cut the yarn and pull it double through the remaining sts and tighten tog.
Piece measures approx. 22-25-28 cm / 8 3/4"-9 3/4"-11".

Slip the 10-12-12 sts from stitch holder back on needle. Now measure the piece from here. Work in seed st.
When piece measures 7-8-10 cm / 2 3/4"-3"-4", bind off for button holes on next row from RS as follows: 2 sts in seed st, 1 YO, work 2 sts tog, 2-4-4 sts in seed st, work 2 sts tog, 1 YO, 2 sts in seed st.
Continue in seed st, bind off when piece measures 9-10-12 cm / 3½"-4"-4 3/4".

Sew seam mid on top of foot, sew edge to edge with small invisible stitches. Sew seam mid back the same way. Sew 2 buttons on to the leg.

Work as left slipper but reversed, i.e. when piece measures 7-7-8 cm / 2 3/4"-2 3/4"-3 1/8", bind off 10-12-12 sts in the right side, and when piece measures 11-12-14 cm / 4 3/8"-4 3/4"-5½", slip the outermost 10-12-12 sts in the left side on a stitch holder.

Pam 01.03.2014 - 22:11:

Not sure how to sew the top part of the slipper together. Do the buttons go on the flap or the other part? Can a video be added to show this?

DROPS Design 03.03.2014 kl. 11:01:

Dear Pam, when slipper is finished, fold double along cast on row, sew tog cast on row (mid back), then sew seam for upper foot from the toe until the sts for flap (beg/end of rows tog). Button will be sewn through both thickness. Happy knitting!

Nancy Testa 17.10.2013 - 16:25:

I don't understand "slip the work the first 12 stitches on the right side and then slip them onto a stitch holder"

DROPS Design 18.10.2013 kl. 08:54:

Dear Mrs Testa, there were a typo, it has been corrected and now say to work the outermost 12 sts on the right side and slip them onto a st holder. Thank you, happy knitting!
