Cast on 114-122-126 (130-134) sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with off-white and knit 3 cm Rib, at the same time inc 18-22-30 (42-50) sts on the last row = 132-144-156 (172-184) sts. Change to needle size 4 mm and knit pattern as follows: *6 sts of M.2, M.1, 6-22-28 (36-42) sts of M.2, M.1, 6 sts of M.2 (= mid back)*, repeat from *-*. Continue in pattern like this – remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 21-22-25 (29-31) cm knit next row as follows from the RS: 31-34-37 (41-44) sts = front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 62-68-74 (82-88) sts = back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 31-34-37 (41-44) sts = front piece. Now complete front and back pieces separately. Front piece: = 31-34-37 (41-44) sts. Dec to shape the armhole on every other row as follows: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times = 27-30-33 (37-40) sts. When piece measures 28-30-34 (39-45) cm dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 5-6-7 (8-11) sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 2 times. Cast off when piece measures 33-35-39 (44-50) cm. Back piece: = 62-68-74 (82-88) sts. Dec for armhole as described for front piece = 54-60-66 (74-80) sts. When piece measures 31-33-37 (42-48) cm cast off the middle 24-26-28 (30-36) sts for neck. Dec to shape the neckline each side on next row: 1 st 1 time. Cast off when piece measures 33-35-39 (44-50) cm. Sleeve: Cast on 32-32-36 (36-36) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with off-white and knit 3 cm Rib, at the same time inc 7 sts evenly on the last round = 39-39-43 (43-43) sts. Change to needle size 4 mm and continue in pattern as follows: 10-10-12 (12-12) sts of M.2, M.1, 10-10-12 (12-12) sts of M2. At the same time after the Rib inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 7-9-9 (11-19) times as follows: Size 3 + 6/9 months + 2 years: on every 3rd and 4th round alternately Size 12/18 months: on every 4th round Size 3/4 years: on every other and 3rd round alternately = 53-57-61 (65-81) sts. When piece measures 14-17-19 (21-24) cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and complete sleeve back and forth on needle. Dec to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 4 sts 3 times. Cast off when sleeve measures 17-20-22 (24-27) cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 90-110 sts along left front piece on needle size 2.5 mm with off-white, P 1 row and knit 2.5 cm Rib back and forth on needle, cast off. Repeat along right front edge, but after 0.5 cm make 5 buttonholes evenly distributed on row. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 50-52-54 (56-62) sts round the neck (do not pick up on front edges) on needle size 4 mm with off-white from the WS (edge to be folded towards RS afterwards). Knit M.2 back and forth on needle from mid front with 1 edge st side in garter st – make sure the RS of pattern is on the inside. Knit 6-6-6 (7-7) cm, at the same time inc 1 st on each side of the middle st on shoulder on every other row. Cast off. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons. TROUSERS: Size: 3 – 6/9 – 12/18 months (2 – 3/4) years Length: 38-42-47 (50-57) cm. Leg length: 18-20-23 (26-31) cm. DROPS circular needle and double pointed needle size 2.5 and 3.5 mm Knitting tension: 21 sts x 28 rows on needles size 3.5 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-*. Right leg: Cast on 50-54-56 (60-62) sts on needle size 2.5 mm with red and knit 3 cm Rib. Change to needle size 3.5 mm and continue in Rib, at the same time inc on inside leg on every 2-3-3 (2-2) cm: 2 sts 6-4-7 (8-9) times = 62-62-70 (76-80) sts. Remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 15-17-20 (23-28) cm divide piece at inside leg (= split) and complete piece back and forth on needle. Inc 1 st each side for seam = 64-64-72 (78-82) sts. When piece measures 18-20-23 (26-31) cm cast off 3 sts each side = 58-58-66 (72-76) sts. Put piece aside and knit the other leg. Left leg: knit as right leg. Trousers: Put left and right leg in on the same circular needle = 116-116-132 (144-152) sts. Insert a MT mid front and mid back and continue in Rib. After 3 cm inc on both sides of the middle 2 sts mid back and dec on both sides of the middle 2 sts mid front on every other row as follows: back,1 st 6 times – front, 1 st 8-8-10 (12-13) times. Dec as follows: before MT, K2 tog, after MT, slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso = 112-112-124 (132-138) sts. When piece measures 35-39-44 (47-54) cm change to needle size 2.5 mm and knit 3 cm Rib, P 1 round (= folding edge), 3 cm stocking st. Cast off. Assembly: Sew tog leg seams and mid back. Fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Insert a string. HAT: Size: 1/3 – 6/9 – 12/18 months (2 – 3/4 years) To fit head circumference: 42- 46 – 46 (50 – 50) cm DROPS double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm DROPS crochet hook size 3 mm Knitting tension: 21 sts x 28 rows on needle size 3.5 mm in pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Earflap: Cast on 4 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with red and knit M.2. At the same time inc 1 st each side on every other row a total of 6-8-8 (8-10) times = 16-20-20 (20-24) sts. Now inc on the right side of piece (towards forehead) on every other row: 2 sts 2-2-4 (4-4) times = 20-24-28 (28-32) sts. Piece measures approx 6-7.5-8 (8-9) cm. Put piece aside and make another earflap with inc towards forehead on the opposite side. Hat: Cast on 20-20-20 (20-20) sts between earflaps at back and 28-28-20 (28-20) sts between earflaps at front = 88-96-96 (104-104) sts. Distribute sts on double pointed needles. Measure piece from here. Knit M.3 and then complete piece in red in M.2. At the same time when piece measures 8-9-10 (11-12) cm dec 32-40-36 (44-40) sts evenly on the first round in stocking st (from now on only dec on rounds in stocking st) = 56-56-60 (60-64) sts. After 2 cm dec 20-20-20 (20-20) sts evenly on round. After another 2 cm dec 16-16-16 (16-16) sts evenly on round, and after a further 2 cm dec 12-12-16 (8-12) sts evenly = 8-8-8 (16-16) sts. After another 2 cm cut the thread on the 3 smaller sizes, dec 8-8 sts evenly on the 2 larger sizes, knit 2 cm and cut thread, pull thread through remaining sts and fasten. Now crochet a row of dc round the edge with red. Make 2 tassels measuring approx 5 cm in off-white and attach to bottom of earflap. NECK WARMER: Size: 3 – 6/9 – 12/18 months (2 -3/4 years) DROPS small circular needle size 2.5 mm and pointed needles size 3.5 mm Knitting tension: 21 sts on needle size 3.5 mm in moss st = width 10 cm. Moss st: first row: K1, P1. Second row: P over K and K over P. Repeat second row. Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-*. Cast on 23-25-27 (29-31) sts on pointed needle size 3.5 mm with red and knit moss st. Inc each side on every other row: 1 st 4-5-5 (5-7) times = 31-35-37 (39-45) sts. Put piece aside when it measures 7-8-9 (10-11) cm. Knit another piece. Put both pieces in on the same circular needle size 2.5 mm to knit the neck and inc 20 sts evenly on first round = 82-90-94 (98-110) sts. Knit 7-8-9 (10-10) sts in Rib and cast off. SOCKS: Size: 3 – 6/9 – 12/18 months (2 -3/4 years) Foot length: 10-11-12.5 (13.5-14.5) cm DROPS double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm Knitting tension: 21 sts x 28 rows on needles size 3.5 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: *K2, P2*, repeat from *-*. Cast on 48-48-52 (52-56) sts on double pointed needle size 2.5 mm with off-white and knit 14 cm Rib. Change to needle size 3.5 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time dec 14-14-16 (16-20) sts evenly on first round = 34-34-36 (36-36) sts. Now knit heel as follows: 3-3.5-4 (4.5-5) cm stocking st back and forth on needle on 18 sts mid back. Decreases for heel: Row 1: K10, K2 tog into back of st, K1, turn the piece Row 2: slip 1 st as if to P, P4, P2 tog, P1, turn the piece Row 3: slip 1 st as if to K, K5, K2 tog into back of st, K1, turn the piece Row 4: slip 1 st as if to P, P6, P2 tog, P1, turn the piece Row 5: slip 1 st as if to K, K7, K2 tog into back of st, K1, turn the piece Row 6: slip 1 st as if to P, P8, P2 tog, P1, turn the piece Row 7: K2 tog, K8, K2 tog into back of st = 10 sts on needle. Now pick up 7-7-7 (8-8) sts on both sides of heel and put all sts on needles = 40-40-42 (44-44) sts. Dec on both ides of the upper 18-18-20 (20-20) sts on every round: 1 st 4-4-5 (5-5) times = 32-32-34 (34-34) sts. When foot measures 7-8-9 (10-11) cm insert a MT each side and dec on both sides of MT (= 4 dec per round) on every and every other round alternately: 1 st 6-6-7 (7-7) times = 8-8-6 (6-6) sts. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten. MITTENS: Size: 3 – 6/9 – 12/18 months (2 -3/4 years) Hand length: 9-10-11 (12-12) cm. DROPS double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and 3 mm Knitting tension: 22 sts x 30 rows on needles size 3 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-* with 4 garter sts mid upper hand: 2 rounds blue, 2 rounds red, 1 round blue, 14 rounds red. Garter st in the round: K 1 round, P 1 round. Stripes: 1 round red, 2-2-3 (4-5) rounds off-white, 11 rounds beige, 2-2-3 (3-3) rounds off-white and complete in red. Knitted in the round on double pointed needles. Only knit thumb on the 2 larger sizes. Cast on 33-33-33 (37-37) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with bright blue and knit Rib as described above. Change to needle size 3 mm and continue in stocking st and stripes as described above, at the same time inc 1 st on round = 34-34-34 (38-38) sts. Now measure piece from here. For the 2 larger sizes: when piece measures 3-3-3 (3-3) cm put 5 sts on thread for thumb. On next round cast on 5 new sts over sts on thread. When piece measures 5-6-7 (8-8) cm insert a MT each side and dec on both sides of MT on every other round as follows: before MT, K2 tog, after MT, slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso. Repeat this dec 4 times = 18-18-18 (22-22) sts. Now dec on every round until 6-6-6 (10-10) sts left on needle. Cast off and sew tog the top. Thumb: Pick up 5 sts in the inc sts by thumb, inc 1 st, put sts from thread on needle, inc 1 st = 12 sts. Knit approx 3.5-4 cm and now K tog all sts 2 by 2 on every round twice = 3 sts. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten. Embroider M.5 on the middle upper 10 sts and M.7 on the 4 garter sts in Rib. |
