I beleive I figured it out. For Row 1 after the first vertical: A2=1 A3 repeat 5 times A3 1 time A4=1 Stocking stitch A4=1 A3 1 time A3 repeat 5 time A2=1

Dear Wendy, when you repeat diagrams in height, repeat them the same way on either side of the middle stitch, this means: 1 edge stitch, A.2, repeat A.3, work A.4, the middle stitch in stocking stitch and now repeat as for the first half: A.2, repeat A.3, work A.4 and end with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Happy knitting!

I am not understanding what to do after 1 vertical round. From your comment from Lily. The next row after the vertical rise is as follows: K1 yo K1 yo K40 K8 K40 yo K1 yo K1 yo K1yo K40 K8 K40 yo K1 yo K1 What do I do for the next rows? Can you write the next few rows out and tell me what row number they are? Is the next row Row 2 of A2 A3 and A4? If so, the P3 does not fit into the 43 stitches from above.

Dear Wendy, sorry I'm not sure to understand what you mean here, which diagram/part of the pattern do you need help with? Can you tell us more? Thanks for your comprehension.

Hello. In the pattern, it says to repeat A.2, A.3, A.4 with the center stitch and then again A.2, A.3, A.4. As the stitch count increases, how should I add the A.3 pattern? Since one A.3 pattern is 8 stitches wide, adding it on both sides would require a total of 16 stitches. Should I start adding one A.3 pattern on each side only after 16 stitches have been increased? Until then, should the increased stitches be worked in stockinette stitch? Thank you for your help!
16.05.2025 - 06:06DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lily, when you work the diagrams a second time in height, you repeat A.3 between A.2 and A.4, this means you work A.2 over the first stitch, then repeat A.3 over the 40 sts increased on previous A.2, work A.3 as before, repeat A.3 over the 40 next sts (the first 40 sts previous A.3) and finish with A.4 over the remaining stitch. Happy knitting!

10.05.2025 - 15:34DROPS Design answered:
Hei Irene Anna.

Mvh Anne
02.02.2025 - 11:53DROPS Design answered:
Hei Anne. Jo, nå starter du nederst / 1.rad på diagrammene igjen og da har diagram A.2 og A.4 1 maske, men når du avsluttet A.2 og A.4 bestod de av 41 masker, slik at du nå skal strikke 1 kantmaske som tidligere + A.2 (=1 maske) + nå strikker du A.3 8 ganger over de 40 øverste maskene i A.2 + A.3 over A.3 (som tidligere) + A.4 (=1 maske) + A.3 8 ganger over de 40 øverste maskene i A.4 + midtmasken.

06.11.2024 - 20:54DROPS Design answered:
Hej Dorthe, du starter nederst i diagrammet og strikker over de 7 masker. Første pind strikkes således: 1 kantmaske, A.1 = 1 omslag, 2ret, 1 omslag, 1 midtmaske, A1 =1 omslag, 2 ret, 1 omslag, 1 kantmaske.

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. CAST-OFF TIP - elastic cast-off: Cast off by knitting from right side as follows: Knit 2, * insert left needle in the 2 stitches on right needle from left to right and knit stitches together, knit 1 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains on right needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through last stitch When casting off like this, the cast-off edge will be elastic. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work shawl back and forth, top down. SHAWL: Cast on 7 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with Sky. Knit 1 row from wrong side. Work 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above, A.1(= 2 stitches), 1 middle stitch in stocking stitch, A.1 over 2 stitches and finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 23 stitches on row. Then work as follows from right side: Work 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.2 (= 1 stitch), A.3 (= 8 stitches), A.4 (= 1 stitch), 1 stitch in stocking stitch, A.2 over 1 stitch, A.3 over 8 stitches, A.4 over 1 stitch and finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work edge stitches in garter stitch and middle stitch in stocking stitch until finished measurements. When A.2 to A.4 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 183 stitches on row. Repeat pattern vertically, i.e. for every time it has been worked 1 time vertically, work 10 repetitions more of A.3 on each side of middle stitch. When shawl measures 72 cm, measured along middle stitch (adjust to finish with 1 whole lace pattern vertically), work in garter stitch over all stitches - continue increase inside 1 edge stitch in each side of piece and on each side of middle stitch as before. Cast off by knitting from right side when shawl measures 74 cm, measured along middle stitch - read CAST-OFF TIP! |
