In the written instructions, you say that “when A.1 to A.4 has been worked 1time vertically, repeat the last 4 rows in diagrams...”. I’m confused; should we ignore A.1B? What should I do at the end of A.4 when that section in the pattern shows a chain stitch at the end (e.g. the first row we need to repeat, after the last double crochet around chain space). Grateful for your help!
24.02.2018 - 13:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Vanessa, you should repeat the diagrams as before in width, but repeating only the last 4 rows in each of the diagrams. Happy crocheting!

HELP!!!! Is it possible to give written institutions for the Arabella poncho rather than the diagram to follow. I've tried and tried for hours that I had to give up. Thank you, Liz Robledo

Crochet poncho with lace pattern in DROPS Paris. Size: S - XXXL
DROPS 177-29 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. ---------------------------------------------------------- PONCHO: Piece is worked as 2 scarves and then sewn together into a poncho. Work 63-75-87-99 chain stitches on hook size 5 mm with Paris. Work 1 double crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook (= 2 double crochet), 1 double crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 3 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* the entire row = 48-57-66-75 double crochet. Then work as follows - begin on 2nd row in diagram (= right side): Work A.1A (= 1 stitch), A.2 over the next 5 double crochet, A.3 over the next 36-45-54-63 double crochet (4-5-6-7 repetitions of 9 stitches), A.4 over the next 5 double crochet and then A.1B (= 1 stitch). Continue pattern back and forth as shown in diagrams. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When A.1 to A.4 has been worked 1 time vertically, repeat the last 4 rows in diagrams until piece measures approx. 68-75-83-90 cm. Fasten off. Work another part the same way. ASSEMBLY: Place cast-off edge on 2nd part towards right long side on 1st part (seen from right side) - from the corner and 38-45-53-60 cm upwards – make sure not to stretch the piece too much. Sew the 2 parts together with neat little stitches - this is the front on poncho. Then sew cast-on edge on 1st part to right side on 2nd part the same way. NOTE: You can also crochet the parts together as follows: 1 double crochet in first stitch on 2nd part, 1 double crochet in first stitch on 1st part, * 2 chain stitchs, skip approx. 1 cm, 1 double crochet in next stitch on 2nd part, 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in next stitch on 2nd part *, repeat from *-* along the entire edge. Fasten off. |
