Alexa, on each side of hood you have one repeat of M1 one one side and M.2 on the other side. Before you finally bind off all sts, on last row you dec the sts in each repeat in each side by knitting together theses 16 sts 2 by 2 to 8 sts. Then on next row you bind of all sts.

Cast on 72-80-88-96-104-116 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) with 2 threads Alpaca on needle size 4.5 mm. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib as follows: 1 edge st * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* on the next 68-76-84-92-100-112 sts and finish with K2 and 1 edge st. When rib measures 7 cm change to needle size 5 mm and continue in reverse stocking st. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 8 cm dec 1 st each side on every 2.5 cm a total of 5 times = 62-70-78-86-94-106 sts. When piece measures 24 cm inc 1 st each side on every 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm a total of 4 times = 70-78-86-94-102-114 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm cast off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-3-5 times and 1 st 1-2-3-4-4-5 times = 62-64-66-68-70-72 sts. Right front piece: Cast on 53-57-61-65-69-77 sts (includes 1 edge st at side and 8 front band sts towards mid front) on needle size 4.5 mm with 2 threads Alpaca. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib as follows from RS: 8 garter sts (front band), *K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* on the next 44-48-52-56-60-68 sts and finish with 1 edge st. Remember buttonholes – see above. When rib measures 7 cm change to needle size 5 mm and continue as follows from the RS: 8 garter sts, P 2 sts, M.1 (= 16 sts), 26-30-34-38-42-50 sts in reverse stocking st, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this. When piece measures 8 cm dec at side as described for back piece = 48-52-56-60-64-72 sts. When piece measures 24 cm inc at side as described for back piece = 52-56-60-64-68-76 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm cast off for armhole at side as described for back piece. At the same time when piece measures 50-52-54-55-57-59 cm slip the 26 sts towards mid front on a stitch holder for neck. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 2-2-2-2-2-3 times and 1 st 0-1-2-3-4-5 times. When all dec are complete there are 18-18-18-18-18-18 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm. Left front piece: Like right front piece, but mirrored. Work M.2 instead of M.1. Sleeve: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 42-42-46-46-50-50 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with 2 threads Alpaca. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib, K2/P2, with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 7 cm change to needle size 5 mm and continue in reverse stocking st. When piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st each side on every 5-4-4-3-2.5-2 cm a total of 8-10-10-12-13-15 times = 58-62-66-70-76-80 sts. When piece measures 50-49-49-48-47-45 cm – less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder - cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 0-1-2-3-5-7 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 56-56-57-57-58-58 cm, now cast off 3 sts each side 1 time and cast off remaining sts. Sleeve measures approx 57-57-58-58-59-59 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams inside 1edge st. Sew on buttons Hood: Pick up 96 to 120 sts round the neck (incl sts on stitch holders. Work reverse stocking st with 8 garter sts towards mid front and M.1/M.2. Continue until hood measures approx 40 cm – adjust to after a full repeat of M.1/M.2. Work 1 row, K tog all sts in M.1/M.2 2 by 2. Cast off loosely. Fold hood double and sew tog at top from the RS. |
