In general how much wearing ease are built into the sizing of your knitting patterns? English and N. American knitting patterns give the size of the garment and then the finished size or 'wearing ease of the knitted garment providing it was knit to the tension specified. Wearing ease measurement appears not to be shown with Drops Patterns - in effect the knitter is unsure of the actual finished measurement. The garment could be a close fit , loose or baggy. Which is this one?

Dear Mrs Vanin, we do not work with the concept of "wearing ease" - but you will find a measurement chart with all measurements in cm taken flat from side to side; measure a similar garment you have and like the shape and compare these measurements to find out the matching size. Read more here. Happy knitting!

How many total yards are needed for this pattern in a size small? I am using a different yarn. Thank you!

Dear Deb, the patterns of the DROPS site are made available free to support Garnstudio's DROPS yarns, so please understand we cannot help you to calculate amounts for other yarns. Substituting DROPS yarns can be helped by using our yarncalculator here. Happy Crafting!
