Jag undrar om man stickar hela västen med två trådar eller är det endast muddar och krage med två trådar?

Dear Paula, this pattern is from the new collection, so some patterns may take some time in being translated to other languages. This pattern should be in Suomi (Finnish) soon, you may check it at a later date.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. CHANGING BALLS: So the colours are neat when changing strands of DROPS Delight, it is important to find a ball which starts with the same colour as the end of the previous ball. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows in the pattern from the right side. DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced): To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on needle (e.g. 99 stitches) minus the edge stitches (e.g. 2 stitches) and divide the remaining stitches by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 32) = 3. In this example decrease by knitting together each 2nd and 3rd stitch. Do not decrease the edge stitches. DECREASE TIP-2: All decreases are worked from the right side! BEFORE THE NECK: Work until there are 6 stitches left before the neck, knit 2 together, knit to end of row (= 1 stitch decreased). AFTER THE NECK: Knit the first 4 stitches, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over, knit to end of row (= 1 stitch decreased). CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in sections. The sleeve edges and neck are worked to finish. Read CHANGING BALLS. BACK PIECE: Cast on 93-99-109-117-129-143 stitches with circular needle size 5 mm and 1 strand DROPS Delight and 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 2 strands). Work rib from the right side as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, A.1 until there are 2 stitches left, work the first stitch in A.1 (so the pattern is symmetrical) and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib back and forth for 12 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 30-32-36-38-42-48 stitches evenly spaced – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 63-67-73-79-87-95 stitches. Change to circular needle size 7 mm. Work stocking stitch, starting from the wrong side, with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33-34 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 2-3-3-4-6-6 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 0-0-0-0-1-1 time and 1 stitch 1-1-2-3-2-5 times on each side = 57-59-63-65-67-69 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side until the piece measures 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm. Cast off the middle 23-23-25-25-27-27 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately (= 17-18-19-20-20-21 stitches on the shoulder). Then decrease on each row from the right side 2 times (read DECREASE TIP-2) = 15-16-17-18-18-19 stitches. Cast off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm. Work the other shoulder in the same way – start with a strand-length which gives you a natural change of colours. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as the back piece until the piece measures 44-46-47-49-50-52 cm (= 57-59-63-65-67-69 stitches). Place the middle 17 stitches on a thread for the neck and finish each shoulder separately (= 20-21-23-24-25-26 stitches on the shoulder). Then decrease on each row from the right side 5-5-6-6-7-7 times (remember DECREASE TIP-2) = 15-16-17-18-18-19 stitches. Cast off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm. Work the other shoulder in the same way – start with a strand-length which gives you a natural change of colours. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams inside the cast-off edge. Sew the side seams from the armholes down to the rib (= 12 cm split on each side). NECK: Start from the right side by the one shoulder seam, with short circular needle size 5 mm and 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands). Knit up 84 to 96 stitches around the neck (the number of stitches should be divisible by 2). Work A.1 in the round for 10 cm. Now increase 1 stitch in each purled section and continue with knit 1 twisted, purl 2 until the neck measures 12 cm. Cast off, making sure the neck is not tight – read CASTING-OFF TIP. SLEEVE EDGES: Start from the right side by the side seam with short circular needle size 5 mm and 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands). Knit up 80 to 96 stitches around the armhole (the number of stitches should be divisible by 2). Work A.1 in the round for 5 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Work the other sleeve edge in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
