89-19 pattern has increases but I don’t know when or where to put them. And why does row 8 have an extra YO?
19.04.2023 - 23:06DROPS Design answered:
Hi Liz, The increases are shown in the diagram (the oval symbol which means make 1 yarn over between 2 stitches). The yarn over in row 8 should be ignored. Happy knitting!

This pattern states a crochet gauge (Crochet gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern = 10x10 cm) - is that a typo that should say knitting gauge instead? If not, what is the knitting gauge? Thank you.
08.05.2013 - 23:43DROPS Design answered:
Dear JoAnne, you are correct, it's just a typo that will be edited, it should say : Knitting gauge : 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern = 4" x 4". Happy knitting!

Is that a typo on row 7 with a yo the 4stitch in ? Also why don't you ever show a photo of the back of your patterns
05.04.2013 - 14:25DROPS Design answered:
Dear Dixie, no typo on row 7, a real YO so that you get one more st on row 8. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot !

Small knitted DROPS poncho with fan pattern in "Vivaldi"
DROPS 89-19 |

Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide! 20 stitches x 26 rows with needle size 4 mm and fan pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Pattern: See diagrams M.1 and M.2. Diagrams show the pattern seen from the right side - NOTE: The repeats slope to one side as you work. Ridge/Garter stitch (in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. --------------------------------------------------------- Poncho: The poncho is worked with circular needle from the neck down. Fold the circular needle double and cast on 142-156-168 stitches over 2 needles size 4 mm. Pull out the one needle before continuing in the round (this is so that the cast-on edge is elastic). Work 8 rounds stocking stitch, then work the next round as follows: * 1 yarn over, K2 together *, repeat from *-* to end of round. Work 2 rounds stocking stitch at the same time as you adjust the number of stitches to 143-156-169 stitches on round 2. Then continue with M.1 at the same time as you increase in each repeat as shown in the diagram until there are 25 stitches in each repeat. After the last increase, there should be 275-300-325 stitches on the needle. Continue with M.2 until piece measures approx. 25-26-27 cm from the row of holes in neck (measured straight down). Then work 2 ridges before loosely casting off - NOTE: So that the cast-off edge is not tight, make 1 yarn over after every other stitch at the same time as you cast off (yarn overs cast off as normal). Crochet edge: Work 1 round of chain-spaces around bottom of poncho with hook size 4 mm and Vivaldi as follows: 1 double crochet in first stitch, * 6 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches, 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 6 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch in first double crochet at beginning of round. |
