Buon lavoro!

Hi, I can’t get past the first row of the MEDIUM size jumper because the pattern for size M+L+XXL states: 1 edge stitch, K3, *P3, K3* repeat from *-* a total of 3-4-5 times, M1 (=31st), etc. That only makes 29 stitches on the M size. Also, how does one keep the rib pattern when M1 comes in the middle of the row?
17.10.2021 - 13:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Shirley, you have 75 sts in total ( 1 edge stitch + k3 + (p3,k3) 3 times (=18) + M.1 (=31 sts) + (k3,p3) 3 times (=18) + k3 + 1 edge stitch ) = 75. M.1 is also a type of rib pattern, but it's k4, p3 instead of p3,k3, to adjust to the cable. Happy knitting!

Can you explain the corrections for the neck? Where on the neck piece do you slip 4 st before knitting 4 stitches and slip 4 st on cable and K4, K4 from cable? Thanks so much.
16.04.2021 - 17:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Suzi, according to the corrections, you slip 4 stitches on the cable needle, put it before or behind the work, knit 4 from the left needle and then knit the stitches from the cable needle. Happy Knitting!

Buongiorno Marina. Avvia le maglie e lavora il primo ferro a rovescio. È un ferro lavorato sulla parte rovescio del lavoro, quindi quella che, a capo finito, rimane all’interno. Buon lavoro!

Can you explain bind off for arm hole each side at the beginning of every role for the large size. Three stitches one time two stitches one time and one stitch one time equals 59 stitches. Thank you
29.01.2020 - 02:46DROPS Design answered:
Hi Janice, You have 71 stitches on the front piece and are binding off 3 stitches on each side = 6, then 2 stitches on each side = 4 and finally 1 stitch on each side = 2 . Altogether you bind off 12 stitches which leaves you with 59 stitches. I hope this helps and happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagram M.1 to M.3 - pattern in diagram is seen from RS. P 1 row from WS and work next row as follows from RS: SIZE S + L + XXL: 1 edge st, * P3, K3 * repeat from *-* a total of 3-4-5 times, M.1 (= 31 sts), * K3, P3 *, repeat from *-* a total of 3-4-5 times and finish with 1 edge st. SIZE M + XL + XXXL: 1 edge st, K3, * P3, K3 * repeat from *-* a total of 3-4-5 times, M.1 (= 31 sts), * K3, P3 *, repeat from *-* a total of 3-4-5 times and finish with K3 and 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this. When piece measures 11 cm - adjust so that next row is from WS – work 1 row with M.2 instead of M.1 with remaining sts as before. There are now 6 inc sts mid front = 75-81-87-93-99-105 sts in total. Change to needle size 8 mm and continue in stocking st with the middle 37 sts in M.3, AT THE SAME TIME on row 1 dec 6-7-8-8-8-7 stocking sts evenly each side of M.3 = 63-67-71-77-83-91 sts. Continue in stocking st and M.3 with 1 edge st each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-62 cm cast off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1-1-2-3 times and 1 st 1-2-1-3-3-4 times = 55-57-59-61-63-65 sts. When piece measures 65-68-71-73-76-78 cm K2 tog on all sts on the 2 cables and dec 1 st in the P-section on the outside of each cable = 10 dec sts. On next row slip the middle 11-11-11-13-13-13 sts on a stitch holder for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times = 13-14-15-15-16-17 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 73-76-79-82-85-87 cm. BACK PIECE: Cast on 65-71-77-83-89-95 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm with Snow. P 1 row from WS and work next row as follows from RS: SIZE S + L + XXL: 1 edge st, * K3, P3 *, repeat from *-*, finish with K3 and 1 edge st. SIZE M + XL + XXXL: 1 edge st, * P3, K3 *, repeat from *-* and finish with P3 and 1 edge st. When piece measures 12 cm change to needle size 8 mm. Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 12-14-16-16-16-14 sts evenly on first row = 53-57-61-67-73-81 sts. When piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-62 cm cast off for armhole each side as described for front piece = 45-47-49-51-53-55 sts. When piece measures approx 71-74-77-80-83-85 cm (adjust to 2 cm before finished measurements – adjust to front piece) cast off the middle 17-17-17-19-19-19 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 13-14-15-15-16-17 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 73-76-79-82-85-87 cm. SLEEVE: Cast on 32-32-38-38-38-38 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm with Snow. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib, K3/P3, with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 10 cm change to needle size 8 mm and continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 2-0-4-2-0-0 sts evenly on first row = 30-32-34-36-38-38 sts. When piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st each side and repeat the inc on every 6.5-6.5-5.5-5-5-4 cm a total of 6-6-7-7-7-8 times = 42-44-48-50-52-54 sts. When piece measures 49-48-48-46-45-43 cm (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) cast off for sleeve cap at the beg of every row each side: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 0-1-1-2-2-3 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 54 cm for all sizes, now cast off 4 sts 1 time each side and cast off remaining sts, Piece measures approx 55 cm for all sizes. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. NECK: Pick up approx 56 to 80 sts (divisible by 6 + 2, includes sts on stitch holder mid front) round neck on circular needle size 7 mm. Work rib, K3/P3 – make sure to have K sts over K sts in M.3 mid front and K4 instead of K3 on cables mid front. Cast off loosely with K over K and P over P when neck measures 14-14-14-16-16-16 cm FURTHER ASSEMBLY: Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams inside 1 edge st. |
