Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. MOSS STITCH (worked back and forth): ROW 1: * Knit 1. purl 1 *, work from *-*. ROW 2: Knit over purl and purl over knit. Repeat row 2 onwards. INCREASE TIP (for sleeves): Start 1 stitch before the marker-thread, 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes (= 2 stitches increased). Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The front and back pieces are worked separately back and forth with circular needles and bottom up, then sewn together. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/circular needle. The double neck is worked to finish. The front piece is worked in moss stitch and cables, the back piece in moss stitch. BACK PIECE: Cast on 76-84-92-92-100-108 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and 2 strands DROPS Air or 1 strand DROPS Wish. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Then work rib as follows from the right side: 1 GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left, knit 2 and 1 garter stitch. Work this rib back and forth for 10 cm, finishing after a row from the right side. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Purl 1 row from the wrong side and decrease 18-22-26-22-24-26 stitches evenly spaced = 58-62-66-70-76-82 stitches. Continue with MOSS STITCH - read description above, with 1 garter stitch on each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm, cast off 4-5-5-5-7-8 stitches for the armholes at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 50-52-56-60-62-66 stitches. Continue the pattern as before until the piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm. On the next row cast off the middle 16-16-18-18-20-20 stitches for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 16-17-18-20-20-22 shoulder stitches. Work until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 76-84-92-92-100-108 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Then work rib as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the next 24-28-32-32-36-40 stitches, work A.1, purl 2, A.1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* over the next 24-28-32-32-36-40 stitches, 1 garter stitch. Work this rib back and forth for 10 cm, finishing with a row from the right side. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Work the next row from the wrong side as follows: 1 garter stitch, purl 24-28-32-32-36-40 and decrease 5-7-9-7-8-9 stitches evenly over these stitches, purl 26, purl 24-28-32-32-36-40 and decrease 5-7-9-7-8-9 stitches evenly over these stitches, 1 garter stitch = 66-70-74-78-84-90 stitches. Work the next row as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, work 19-21-23-25-28-31 stitches in MOSS STITCH – read description above, A.2, 2 stitches in moss stitch, A.3, 19-21-23-25-28-31 stitches in moss stitch, 1 garter stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm, cast off 4-5-5-5-7-8 stitches for the armholes at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 58-60-64-68-70-74 stitches. Continue the pattern until the piece measures 53-55-57-58-60-62 cm. On the next row place the middle 18-18-20-20-22-22 stitches on a thread for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off for the neckline on each row from the neck: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 16-17-18-20-20-22 shoulder stitches. Work until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. SLEEVES: Cast on 44-44-48-48-52-52 stitches with double pointed needles size 6 mm. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 10 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 8 mm. Knit 1 round and decrease 14-12-14-14-16-16 stitches evenly spaced = 30-32-34-34-36-36 stitches. Insert a marker-thread at the beginning of the round = mid-under sleeve. Work stocking stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 11 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 6½-6½-6-5-5-4 cm a total of 6-6-6-7-7-8 times = 42-44-46-48-50-52 stitches. When the sleeve measures 47-46-45-44-43-41 cm, work the sleeve cap back and forth (from mid-under sleeve) until the sleeve measures 51-51-50-49-49-48 cm, i.e., a split of 4-5-5-5-6-7 cm at the top of the sleeve. Cast off. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew the side seams in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch as far as the rib (leaving a 10 cm split in each side). Sew the sleeve cap to the armhole and the split to the bottom of the armhole – see sketch. DOUBLE NECK: Start from the right side on one shoulder and knit up 72 to 88 stitches around the neckline (including the stitches on the thread), with short circular needle size 6 mm. The stitch count should be divisible by 4. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 16 cm. Cast off. Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
