PATTERN: See diagram M.1 – diagram is seen from RS and shows 1 pattern repeat. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. INCREASING TIP (applies to collar): Inc by making 1 YO inside outermost st – on return row K YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. BUTTONHOLES: Make buttonholes on right front band. 1 BUTTONHOLE = cast off 4th st from mid front and cast on 1 new st on next row. See pattern for placement of buttonholes (approx 7 cm between buttonholes). MOSS ST: Row 1: * 1 K, 1 P *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat row 2. DECREASING TIP: Dec for neck inside all garter sts (i.e. front band + inc sts for collar). Make all dec from RS! Dec as follows AFTER garter sts: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. Dec as follows BEFORE garter sts: K2 tog. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: First knit cable under chest from side to side, then pick up sts for bottom part of body piece, and now pick up sts for yoke. CABLE UNDER CHEST: Worked back and forth on needle, from side to side. Cast on 28 sts (for all sizes) on needle size 4 mm with Classic Alpaca and K 1 row from WS. Continue from RS as follows: K2, inc 1 st in next st and K both sts, * P4, inc 1 st in each of the next 2 sts and K all 4 sts *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, P4, inc 1 st in next st and K both sts, K2 = 36 sts. Now continue in M.1 (first row = WS) until piece measures approx 73-81-89-101-113-125 cm – adjust so that last row is row marked with arrow in diagram. Work next row from RS as follows: K2, K2 tog, * P4, K2 tog, K2 tog *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, P4, K2 tog, K2 = 28 sts. K 1 row from WS on all sts, then cast off in K sts from RS. BOTTOM PART ON BODY PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 6 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Classic Alpaca (= front band), and then pick up 156-172-190-214-240-264 sts in the outermost st along one side of cable, and cast on 6 sts at the end of row (= front band) = 168-184-202-226-252-276 sts in total. K 1 row from WS, and continue in stocking st with front bands in GARTER ST – see above! Insert a marker 45-49-53-59-66-72 sts in from each side (= 78-86-96-108-120-132 sts between markers on back piece). Now measure piece from where sts were picked up. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When piece measures 2 cm inc 1 st each side of both markers by K 2 sts in 1 st, and repeat the inc on every 3 cm a total of 11 times = 212-228-246-270-296-320 sts. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 5 cm make 1 BUTTONHOLE – see above – and repeat when piece measures 12 cm. When piece measures 41 cm work 4 rows garter st on all sts and cast off loosely. LEFT FRONT BAND: Pick up 1 st in each of the 6 sts cast on for front band on needle size 4 mm and work garter st back and forth on these 6 sts for approx 12 cm (same width as M.1 in cable), finish after 1 row from WS. Slip sts on a stitch holder and sew front band to cable, edge to edge. RIGHT FRONT BAND: Like left front band, but after approx 2 and 9 cm make buttonholes. UPPER PART ON BODY PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Work sts from stitch holder on right front band back on on circular needle size 4 mm, pick up 156-172-190-214-240-264 sts along the top side of cable and work sts from stitch holder on left front band back on circular needle = 168-184-202-226-252-276 sts in total. Now measure piece from here! K 1 row from WS on all sts. K 1 row from RS, AT THE SAME TIME inc 8 sts evenly by K 2 sts in 1 st (do not inc on front bands) = 176-192-210-234-260-284 sts. Insert a marker 47-51-55-61-68-74 sts in from each side (= 82-90-100-112-124-136 sts between markers on back piece). Now continue in MOSS ST – see above, with front bands in garter st as before. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When piece measures 3 cm inc 1 st each side of both markers, and repeat the inc on every 2-2-2.5-2.5-3-3 cm a total of 3 times = (incorporate inc sts in moss st as you go along). AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures approx 4 cm make 1 buttonhole in line with the others on front band. COLLAR: At the same time when piece measures 5 cm inc 1 st each side for collar – SEE INCREASING TIP: Repeat the inc on every other row a total of 12 times, then on every 4th row a total of 6 times = a total of 24 garter sts each side, incl front band. NECKLINE: At the same time when piece measures 6 cm dec for neck – SEE DECREASING TIP: Dec 1 st on every other row a total of 6-6-6-6-7-7 times and then 1 st on every 4th row a total of 12 times. ARMHOLE: When piece measures 9-10-11-12-13-14 cm cast off 8 sts each side for armhole (= 4 sts each side of marker). Now complete each piece separately. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Continue to inc for collar and dec for neck. AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole at the beg of every row from the side: 3 sts 0-0-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-4-5 times and 1 st 2-3-2-4-3-5 times. After all inc and dec there are 44-45-45-47-49-51 sts on needle. When piece measures 28-30-32-34-36-38 cm (approx 82-84-86-88-90-92 cm in total) cast off 26-27-27-29-31-33 sts from shoulder towards neckline = 18 sts left on needle for collar. K 1 row and now continue in garter st on collar as follows: * 2 rows on all sts, 2 rows on 10 sts towards mid front only *, repeat from *-* until collar measures 6-6-6-7-7-7 cm (measure on the shorter side), slip sts on a stitch holder. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Like left front piece, but mirrored. BACK PIECE: = 80-88-98-110-122-134 sts. Continue in moss st, AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole each side as described for front piece = 76-78-80-84-88-92 sts. Continue until piece measures 26-28-30-32-34-36 cm. Now cast off the middle 22-22-24-24-24-24 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 26-27-27-29-31-33 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures approx 28-30-32-34-36-38 cm (adjust to front piece). SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 64-66-68-70-72-74 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 mm with Classic Alpaca. Continue as follows (first row = RS): 1 edge st in garter st, 17-18-19-20-21-22 stocking sts, * P4, K4 *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, P4, 17-18-19-20-21-22 stocking sts and 1 edge st in garter st. Work next row as follows: 1 edge st, 13-14-15-16-17-18 stocking sts, M.1, 13-14-15-16-17-18 stocking sts and 1 edge st. Continue like this. When piece measures 2-2-2-3-3-3 cm inc 1 st each side, and repeat the inc on every 4-3.5-3-2-2-1.5 cm a total of 9-10-11-13-14-15 times = 82-86-90-96-100-104 sts. When piece measures 36-35-34-32-31-30 cm (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 3-5-6-9-10-12 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 43 cm, now cast off 3 sts 1 time each side, and cast off remaining sts. Piece measures approx 44 cm. CUFF: Crochet along sleeve edges on crochet hook size 4 mm – beg from WS: ROW 1: Crochet 41-45-45-49-49-53 dc (i.e. skip approx every 3rd st), turn piece. ROW 2: Crochet 1 dtr in each dc (replace first dtr with 4 ch), turn piece. ROW 3: 5 ch, skip 3 dtr, 1 dc in next dtr, * 4 ch, skip 3 dtr, 1 dc in next dtr *, repeat from *-* = 10-11-11-12-12-13 ch-loops, turn piece. ROW 4: In each ch-loop crochet: 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 tr, 1 ch, 2 dtr, 1 ch, 1 tr, 1 ch and 1 dc, turn piece. ROW 5: 6 ch, 1 dc between the 2 dtr in first loop, * 3 ch, 1 dc between the 2 dtr in next loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 2 ch and 1 dtr in first dc on row. ROW 6: 4 ch (= 1 dtr), 2 dtr in first ch-loop, 4 dtr in each 3-ch-loop and 2 dtr in last ch-loop on row = 41-45-45-49-49-53 dtr. Repeat row 3 to 6 one more time, and then repeat row 3 and 4 one more time. Cut the thread, cuff measures approx 13 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Sew tog collar mid back and sew collar to neckline. Sew sleeve seams inside 1 edge st and set in sleeves. Sew on buttons. |
