Hello, Could you please help me 🙂 I can’t find information about how many grams of yarn I need? I can choose a size, I see how many stitches I should cast on and so on, but I can’t see information about quantity of yarn

Dear Kate, you will find the amount of yarn required for each size under the sizes you can choose from, you are working with 4 strands Kid-Silk worked together, 1 each colour, so in XS for ex you will need 75 g DROPS Kid-Silk/25 g a ball = 3 balls in each of the 4 colours. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (when working back and forth): Knit on all rows, i.e. knit from right side and knit from wrong side. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. BAND WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work band as follows: Slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 and work 5 stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above. END OF ROW: Work band as follows: Work until 7 stitches remain on row, work 5 stitches in garter stitch, slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. Work the same way both from right side and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Decrease for buttonholes on right band (when garment is worn). Decrease from right side when 5 stitches remain on row as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Work band as before and knit yarn over to make a buttonhole. Decrease for first buttonhole on first row from right side after neck edge has been worked. Then decrease the next 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 buttonholes, approx. 8-9-9-8½-8½-8½-9 cm apart. INCREASE TIP: This symmetrical increase gives 1 new stitch. Follow point 1 - 4 below: 1. Hold the yarn behind the piece. Pass the first stitch on left needle loosely on to right needle purlwise. 2. Insert left needle behind the slipped stitch and in between the slipped stitch and the next stitch on right needle. 3. Make a yarn over with yarn around right needle and pull yarn over through stitch to get 1 new stitch on right needle. 4. Drop front loop of stitch off left needle and then knit 1 in front part of the other loop of stitch. 1 stitch has been increased. ROUND CAST-OFF – (pick up stitches from the wrong side and the cast-off gives a round edge on the right side so that the piece does not roll): Cast-off row: Find the stitch that is 2 knit rows/rounds below next stitch on row. Pick up this stitch in top loop from the wrong side and lift it on to left needle. Knit loop and first stitch together. * Pick up next stitch in stitch loop the same way and work it together with next stitch on needle. Cast off by lifting 1st stitch over 2nd stitch *. Repeat from *-* until all stitches have been cast off. SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve to close the hole. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke back and forth on circular needle from mid front, work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards back and forth on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. NECK EDGE: Cast on 89-91-95-99-103-105-109 stitches on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 1 strand of each colour of DROPS Kid-Silk (= 4 strands). Purl 1 row from wrong side. Then work as follows: From right side: 7 stitches BAND WITH I-CORD - read explanation above, knit until 7 stitches remain, work 7 stitches band with i-cord. From wrong side: 7 stitches band with i-cord, purl until 7 stitches remain, work 7 stitches band with i-cord. Work these 2 rows 1 more time (= 4 rows worked). Continue as follows: From right side: Work 7 stitches band as before, work rib (= knit 1 and purl 1) until 8 stitches remain, knit 1, work 7 stitches band as before. From wrong side: Work 7 stitches band as before, work rib (= purl 1 and knit 1) until 8 stitches remain, purl 1, work 7 stitches band as before. Work these 2 rows 1 more time (= 4 rows worked). Insert 1 marker on the inside of band in one side of piece (= mid front), measure piece from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm and work from right side as follows: Work band as before, work 75-77-81-85-89-91-95 stitches in stocking stitch while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 10-17-19-24-23-27-32 stitches evenly over these stitches, work band as before and remember BUTTONHOLES – read explanation above = 99-108-114-123-126-132-141 stitches on needle. Continue with stocking stitch and bands. When piece measures 2 cm from marker work next row as follows from right side: Work band as before, 4 stitches in stocking stitch, * 2 stitches in stocking stitch, increase 1 stitch in next stitch - read INCREASE TIP *, work from *-* 25-28-30-33-34-36-39 times in total, work 6 stitches in stocking stitch and band as before = 124-136-144-156-160-168-180 stitches. Remember to follow the knitting tension! Work as before until piece measures 5-5-6-6-6-6-6 cm from marker. Work next row as follows from right side: Work band as before, 3 stitches in stocking stitch, * 3 stitches in stocking stitch, increase 1 stitch in next stitch *, work from *-* 25-28-30-33-34-36-39 times in total, work 7 stitches in stocking stitch and band as before = 149-164-174-189-194-204-219 stitches. Work as before until piece measures 13-13-15-15-15-16-16 cm from marker. Work next row as follows from right side: Work band as before, 3 stitches in stocking stitch * 5 stitches in stocking stitch, increase 1 stitch in next stitch *, work from *-* 25-28-30-33-34-36-39 times in total, 7 stitches in stocking stitch, work band as before = 199-220-234-255-262-276-297 stitches. Work as before until piece measures 17-17-20-20-20-21-21 cm from marker. Continue as before without increasing until yoke measures 19-20-23-23-23-25-26 cm from marker. Now divide piece for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next row is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 38-41-43-47-50-52-56 stitches as before (= front piece), slip the next 42-48-52-56-56-58-62 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12-12 new stitches on row (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 64-70-74-82-84-92-100 stitches as before (= back piece), slip the next 42-48-52-56-56-58-62 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12-12 new stitches on row (= in the side mid under sleeve), and work the last 38-41-43-47-50-52-56 stitches as before (= front piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 152-164-176-192-204-220-236 stitches. Work stocking stitch and bands as before until piece measures approx. 47-49-51-53-54-56-58 cm from marker mid front - work last row from wrong side.
