Pozdrawiamy!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. INCREASE TIP-1: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT – from RIGHT SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the front and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the back of the needle. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT- from RIGHT SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the back and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the front of the needle. INCREASE TIP-2: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT- from WRONG SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the back and purl through the stitch-loop that lies on the front of the needle. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT – from WRONG SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the front and purl through the stitch-loop that lies on the back of the needle. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.7. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.1, A.2, A.5 and A.6). The diagrams show the pattern from the right side. The diagrams are read from right to left when working from the right side and left to right when working from the wrong side. BANDS WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work the band as follows (8 stitches): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1, work A.4 across the last 6 stitches (moss stitch). END OF ROW: Work the band as follows (8 stitches): Work until there are 8 stitches left on the row, work 6 stitches of A.4 (moss stitch), slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1. Work like this from both the right and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band from the right side when the garment is worn (band = 8 stitches) and when there are 5 stitches left on the row as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit/purl 2 together (whichever fits the pattern), 1 moss stitch, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knitting/purling the yarn over (whichever fits the pattern) to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked 7 cm below the cast-on stitches for the neckline. Then work 4-4-4-5-5-5-5 buttonholes with 8-8½-9-8-8-8-8-8½ cm between each one. The bottom buttonhole is worked in the transition between the stocking stitch and rib. The last buttonhole is worked on the neck. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). KNITTING TIP: When working short rows, there will be a small hole after each turn. This hole can be closed by tightening the strand or using the technique German Short Rows as follows: Slip the first stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, take the strand over the right needle and tighten well from the back (2 loops on the needle). These loops are worked together on the next row. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. Start by casting on stitches at the back of the neck and working the back piece top down in stocking stitch, while increasing stitches on each side for the shoulders until the correct stitch count is achieved. The back piece has slightly diagonal shoulders. The back piece is continued as far as the armholes. One front piece is worked by knitting up stitches along the back shoulder, working pattern and stocking stitch while increasing for the neckline. This is repeated on the other shoulder. At the bottom of the armholes, the front and back pieces are joined on the same circular needle and the body is continued back and forth, working pattern and stocking stitch on the front pieces and stocking stitch on the back. Stitches are knitted up around the armholes for the sleeves, which are started back and forth for the sleeve cap, then finished in the round. Stitches are knitted up around the neckline and the neck is worked to finish. BACK PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 28-28-28-28-32-32-32 stitches with circular needle size 5 mm and DROPS Nepal or DROPS Big Merino. ROW 1 (wrong side): Purl. ROW 2 (right side): Read INCREASE TIP-1. Knit 3, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit until there are 3 stitches left on the row, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 3. ROW 3 (wrong side): Read INCREASE TIP-2. Purl 3, increase 1 stitch towards the right, purl until there are 3 stitches left on the row, increase 1 stitch towards the left, purl 3. AFTER ROW 3: Work ROWS 2 and 3 a total of 13-14-15-17-18-20-22 times (26-28-30-34-36-40-44 rows worked) = 80-84-88-96-104-112-120 stitches. Insert 1 marker outermost on one side; the piece is now measured from here! Continue stocking stitch with 1 GARTER STITCH on each side – read explanation above. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Work until the piece measures 9-8-8-8-9-8-8 cm from the marker and down the armhole. INCREASE FOR ARMHOLES: ROW 1 (right side): Remember INCREASE TIP-1. Knit 3, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit until there are 3 stitches left on the row, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 3. ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 2-4-4-4-4-5-6 times (4-8-8-8-8-10-12 rows worked) = 84-92-96-104-112-122-132 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 11-12-12-12-13-13-13 cm, from the marker and down the armhole, finishing after a row from the right side. Cut the strand and place the stitches on a stitch holder. Work the left front piece along the left back shoulder as follows. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Find the left back shoulder as follows: Lay the back piece flat, right side up, with the stitch holder/thread towards you; left side of piece = left shoulder. Start from the right side by the neck on the left back shoulder and knit up 1 stitch in each row worked, inside the outermost stitch as far as the armhole = 26-28-30-34-36-40-44 stitches. All measurements on the front piece are taken from this knitted-up row. ROW 1 (wrong side): Work 1 garter stitch, purl to end of row while increasing 5-5-5-5-8-8-8 stitches evenly on the row = 31-33-35-39-44-48-52 stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Knit 12-12-12-12-10-10-10, work A.1, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. ROW 3 (wrong side): 1 garter stitch, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, A.1, purl 12-12-12-12-10-10-10. Repeat ROWS 2 and 3 until A.1 is finished in height. The piece measures approx. 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm from the knitted-up row. Now increase for the neckline. INCREASE FOR NECKLINE: ROW 1 (right side): Work the 3 first stitches in A.2, increase 1 stitch towards the left – remember INCREASE TIP-1, finish A.2, work A.1 as before, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20 and 1 garter stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): 1 garter stitch, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, A.1, work A.2 to end of row. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 7 times (14 rows worked), i.e., increase for the neckline inside 3 stocking stitches by the neck. The increased stitches are worked into the pattern as shown in A.2 = 38-40-42-46-51-55-59 stitches. On the first row from the wrong side after the last neckline-increase, cast on 20-20-20-20-22-22-22 new stitches at the end of the row (mid-front) = 58-60-62-66-73-77-81 stitches. Turn and work as follows from the right side: 8 stitches according to BANDS WITH I-CORD – read explanation above, work the next-to-last row in A.2, continue A.1, work 5-7-9-13-12-16-20 stocking stitches, 1 garter stitch. Work this pattern back from the wrong side (A.2 is now finished). Continue as follows: ROW 1 (right side): 8 band-stitches with I-cord, work A.3, continue A.1, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): 1 garter stitch, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, A.1, A.3, 8 band-stitches with I-cord. Repeat ROWS 1 and 2 until the piece measures 25-24-26-28-29-30-32 cm from the knitted-up row. INCREASE FOR ARMHOLE: ROW 1 (right side): Work as before until there are 4 stitches left by the armhole, increase 1 stitch towards the right – remember INCREASE TIP-1, knit 3, 1 garter stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work as before without increasing (the increased stitches are worked in stocking stitch). Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 2-4-4-4-4-5-6 times (4-8-8-8-8-10-12 rows worked) = 60-64-66-70-77-82-87 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 27-28-30-32-33-35-37 cm from the knitted-up row, finishing after a row from the right side. Cut the strand and place the stitches on a stitch holder. Work the right front piece along the right back shoulder as follows. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Start from the right side by the armhole on the right back shoulder and knit up 1 stitch in each row worked, inside the outermost stitch as far as the neck = 26-28-30-34-36-40-44 stitches. All measurements on the front piece are taken from this knitted-up row. ROW 1 (wrong side): Purl until there is 1 stitch left, while increasing 5-5-5-5-8-8-8 stitches evenly spaced, work 1 garter stitch = 31-33-35-39-44-48-52 stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Work 1 garter stitch, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, work A.5, knit 12-12-12-12-10-10-10. ROW 3 (wrong side): Purl 12-12-12-12-10-10-10, A.5, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. Repeat ROWS 2 and 3 until A.5 is finished in height. The piece measures approx. 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm from the knitted-up row. Now increase for the neckline. INCREASE FOR NECKLINE: ROW 1 (right side): 1 garter stitch, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, work A.5 as before, work A.6 until there are 3 stitches left (3 last stitches in A.6), increase 1 stitch towards the right – remember INCREASE TIP-1, work the last 3 stitches in A.6. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work A.6, A.5, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 7 times (14 rows worked), i.e., increase for the neckline inside 3 stocking stitches by the neck. The increased stitches are worked into the pattern as shown in A.6 = 38-40-42-46-51-55-59 stitches. On the first row from the right side after the last neckline-increase, cast on 20-20-20-20-22-22-22 new stitches at the end of the row (mid-front) = 58-60-62-66-73-77-81 stitches. Turn and work as follows from the wrong side: 8 band-stitches with I-cord, work the last row in A.6, continue A.5, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. ROW 1 (right side): 1 garter stitch, knit 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, continue A.5, work A.7 and 8 band-stitches with I-cord. ROW 2 (wrong side): 8 band-stitches with I-cord, work A.7, A.5, purl 5-7-9-13-12-16-20, 1 garter stitch. Repeat ROWS 1 and 2 until the piece measures 25-24-26-28-29-30-32 cm from the knitted-up row – remember the BUTTONHOLES on the right band – read explanation above. INCREASE FOR ARMHOLE: ROW 1 (right side): Work the first 3 stitches in garter stitch and stocking stitch, increase 1 stitch towards the left – remember INCREASE TIP-1, work to end of row as before. The front and back pieces are now joined for the body. BODY: From the wrong side: Work the 60-64-66-70-77-82-87 stitches on the right front piece as before but work the garter stitch in stocking stitch, cast on 4-4-6-4-6-6-6 stitches (under the sleeve), purl the 84-92-96-104-112-122-132 stitches from the back piece, cast on 4-4-6-4-6-6-6 stitches (under the sleeve), work the 60-64-66-70-77-82-87 stitches from the left front piece as before but work the garter stitch in stocking stitch = 212-228-240-252-278-298-318 stitches. Continue band-stitches, pattern and stocking stitch (the cast-on stitches under the sleeves are worked in stocking stitch), until the piece measures 49-51-53-55-56-58-60 cm from the cast-on edge mid-back. On the next row from the right side, begin the rib. AT THE SAME TIME increase 26-26-30-34-32-36-40 stitches evenly as follows: Increase 1 stitch across each section of 5 moss stitches (4 increased stitches), increase 2 stitches across each section of the large cable (4 increased stitches), increase 18-18-22-26-24-28-32 stitches evenly across the stocking stitches on the back piece and sides (do not increase across the bands) = 238-254-270-286-310-334-358 stitches. Work as follows: Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work the band as before, rib (knit 2 and purl 2 – remember to increase) until there are 10 stitches left, knit 2 and work the band as before. When the rib measures 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm, cast off slightly loosely with knit above knit and purl above purl. The jacket measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from mid-back and 56-58-60-62-64-66-68 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: The sleeve is worked top down. Lay the piece flat and insert 1 marker at the top of the armhole. NOTE: This is not the same as the knitted-up row on the front piece but a few cms down the front piece. Use circular needle size 5 mm and knit up tightly or use a smaller needle size. KNIT UP STITCHES AS FOLLOWS: Start in the middle of the cast-on stitches under the sleeve and knit up 66-68-74-76-80-84-86 stitches around the armhole, with equal numbers of stitches on both sides of the marker. SLEEVE CAP: Knit 1 round, purl 1 round and knit 1 round. To give the sleeve cap a better fit, you now work stocking stitch and pattern with short rows back and forth across the sleeve cap, starting mid-under the sleeve as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Knit until there are 13 stitches left before the marker on the shoulder, work the next 5 stitches in A.4, knit 16 increasing 4 stitches evenly across these stitches (= 20 knitted stitches), work the next 5 stitches in A.4, knit 2, turn – read KNITTING TIP = 70-72-78-80-84-88-90 stitches (including the stitches not worked on this row). ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl 2, work A.4 across the next 5 stitches, purl 20, A.4 across the next 5 stitches, purl 2, turn. ROW 3 (right side): Knit 2, work A.4 across the next 5 stitches, work A.y across the next 20 stitches, A.4 across the next 5 stitches, knit 4, turn. ROW 4 (wrong side): Purl 4, continue the pattern across 30 stitches, purl 4, turn. ROW 5 (right side): Work as before to 2 stitches past the previous turn, turn. ROW 6 (wrong side): Work as before to 2 stitches past the previous turn, turn. Repeat ROWS 5 and 6 onwards until you have turned a total of 16-18-20-20-22-24-26 times (8-9-10-10-11-12-13 times on each side, with the last row from the wrong side). AFTER THE LAST TURN: After the last time you work row 6, turn and work from the right side to the beginning of the round (mid-under the sleeve). Insert 1 marker-thread here; it is used when decreasing under the sleeve. Allow it to follow your work onwards. SLEEVE CONTINUED: Continue in the round with pattern across the middle 30 stitches and stocking stitch across the other stitches. AT THE SAME TIME after the first round, decrease 2 stitches mid-under the sleeve, 2-2-2-2-3-3-3 times every 2nd round, then decrease 2 stitches 5-6-8-8-8-9-10 times every 2 cm – read DECREASE TIP = 56-56-58-60-62-64-64 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 44-45-45-44-41-40-39 cm from the marker on the shoulder. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. On the next round work rib (knit 2 and purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 8-8-10-12-10-12-12 stitches evenly on the round as described below = 64-64-68-72-72-76-76 stitches SIZES XS, S, L and XL: Purl 1, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the round, knit 2, purl 1 – AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-2-4-3 stitches in the stocking-stitch sections on each side of the pattern, increase 1 stitch in each section of 5 moss stitches and increase 2 stitches across the large cable. SIZES M, XXL and XXXL: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the round, purl 2, knit 1 - AT THE SAME TIME increase 3-4-4 stitches in the stocking-stitch sections on each side of the pattern, increase 1 stitch in each section of 5 moss stitches and increase 2 stitches across the large cable. When the rib measures 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm, cast off slightly loosely with knit above knit and purl above purl. The sleeve measures approx. 49-50-50-49-47-46-45 cm from the shoulder. NECK: Use circular needle size 5 mm. Start from the right side, mid-front and knit up approx. 106-106-106-106-118-118-118 stitches along the neckline (making sure you knit up 1 stitch in each band-stitch and stitch count is divisible by 4 + 2). Purl 1 row from the wrong side, adjusting the stitch count if necessary. From the right side: Work 8 band-stitches, rib (knit 2 and purl 2) until there are 10 stitches left, knit 2 and 8 band-stitches. Continue this rib back and forth for 1-1½ cm. On the next row from the right side, work the last buttonhole as before above the other buttonholes on the right band (i.e., work the first 3 stitches, work 2 stitches together, make 1 yarn over). When the neck measures 4-4-4½-4½-5-5-5 cm, cast off slightly loosely with knit above knit and purl above purl. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
