Bon tricot!

-Chart A2 row 21 has an extra yarn over between 2 purls that shouldn't be there -Chart A3 has increases in row 38 while charts A1 and A2 have those same increases in row 39 instead - the charts seems to have been repurposed from a sweater pattern knit in the round so instructions for the final symbol in the key (slip 1, knit 2, pass slipped stitch over) doesn't work for this pattern since it's actually on the wrong side so it needs to be reworked for purls

Hi, is there a mistake in the charts? There is an M in two places but no L, which one is size L?
12.09.2026 - 15:09DROPS Design answered:
Dear Anna, there seems to be a problem with the charts. We will contact the design department to check it and correct it as soon as possible. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show the pattern from the right side. BANDS WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1, work 5 garter stitches. END OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Work until there are 7 stitches left on the row, work 5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1. Work like this from both the right and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band (when the garment is worn) from the right side, when there are 5 stitches left on the row as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knitting the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked on the first row from the right side after the neck is finished. Then work the other 5-5-6-6-6-6-6 buttonholes with 8-8½-7½-8-8-8-8½ cm between each one. The bottom buttonhole is worked in the transition between the stocking stitch and rib. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down, increasing evenly for the round yoke. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 99-109-109-109-117-117-117 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Air. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Continue rib as follows: 7 stitches according to BANDS WITH I-CORD – read explanation above, rib (knit 1 and purl 1) until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and work 7 stitches according to bands with I-cord. Continue this rib for 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm. On the last row from the wrong side decrease 0-1-1-1-0-0-0 stitches (do not decrease across the bands) = 99-108-108-108-117-117-117 stitches. Insert 1 marker inside one band; the piece is now measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 5 mm. Work the first row from the right side as follows – read BUTTONHOLES and PATTERN above: The band as before, then A.1 (6 stitches), A.2 a total of 8-9-9-9-10-10-10 times, A.3 (7 stitches), work the band as before. When the patterns are finished in height, there are 271-299-299-317-327-347-347 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and the bands as before, adjusting the stitch count to 262-290-310-322-330-354-374 stitches on the first row. Work until the yoke measures 20-21-23-24-24-26-28 cm from the marker mid-front. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES Work 45-48-51-53-55-60-64 stitches as before (= front piece), place the next 48-56-60-62-62-64-66 stitches on a stitch holder/thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-10-12-14-16 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work 76-82-88-92-96-106-114 stitches (= back piece), place the next 48-56-60-62-62-64-66 stitches on a stitch holder/thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-10-12-14-16 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work the last 45-48-51-53-55-60-64 stitches as before (= front piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 178-190-206-218-230-254-274 stitches. Continue stocking stitch and bands as before until the piece measures 41-43-45-47-47-49-51 cm from the marker mid-front. On the next row from the right side, begin the rib. AT THE SAME TIME increase 17-19-21-21-23-25-27 stitches evenly on the first row (do not increase across the bands) = 195-209-227-239-253-279-301 stitches, working as follows: Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work the band as before, then rib (knit 1 and purl 1 – remember to increase) until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and work the band as before. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off with knit above knit and purl above purl. The jacket measures approx. 45-47-49-51-52-54-56 cm from the marker mid-front and 50-52-54-56-58-60-62 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 48-56-60-62-62-64-66 sleeve-stitches from one thread/stitch holder onto circular needle size 5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-10-12-14-16 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 54-62-68-72-74-78-82 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 6-6-8-10-12-14-16 new stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, after 1 round, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 3½-3½-3½-3½-3-3-3 cm 3-6-8-9-9-10-11 times = 48-50-52-54-56-58-60 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 43-43-41-41-41-40-39 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 4-6-6-6-6-6-6 stitches evenly on the first round = 52-56-58-60-62-64-66 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 47-47-45-45-46-45-44 cm from the division. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
