---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (when working in the round): Alternately knit 1 round and purl 1 round. 1 ridge vertically = 2 rounds. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.6. See start arrow for size! SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve to close the hole. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of stitch with marker as follows: Work until 2 stitches remain before stitch with marker, purl 2 together, knit 1 (marker is in this stitch), purl 2 together (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder back and work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. Fold the neck edge double against the wrong side and fasten. If 0 is given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information until next information. NECK EDGE: Cast on 100-104-108-112-116-120-124 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with DROPS Alaska or DROPS Big Merino. Knit 1 round. Work rib in the round (= purl 2/knit 2) for 9-9-9-9-11-11-11 cm. Later the neck edge is folded in towards wrong side and assembled to form a neck edge of approx. 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm. Work 2 ridges in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above - on last round in garter stitch increase 20-16-12-40-36-32-28 stitches evenly = 120-120-120-152-152-152-152 stitches. Beginning of round is at right shoulder at the back. Insert 1 marker after the first 38-38-38-50-50-50-50 stitches on round (= approx. mid front), measure piece from this marker. YOKE: Continue with circular needle size 5 mm. SLEEVE (= 16-16-16-24-24-24-24 stitches): Work A.1 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), A.2 (= 8 stitches), A.3 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches). FRONT PIECE (= 44-44-44-52-52-52-52 stitches): Knit 2 (= raglan stitches), work A.4 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), A.2 over the next 32 stitches, A.5 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), knit 2 (= raglan stitches). SLEEVE (= 16-16-16-24-24-24-24 stitches): Work A.1 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), A.2 (= 8 stitches), A.3 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches). BACK PIECE = 44-44-44-52-52-52-52 stitches): Knit 2 (= raglan stitches), work A.4 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), A.2 over the next 32 stitches, A.5 (= 4-4-4-8-8-8-8 stitches), knit 2 (= raglan stitches). Continue in the round like this and increase as shown in diagrams. When A.1 and A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 364-364-364-364-364-364-364 stitches on needle, 74-74-74-74-74-74-74 stitches on each sleeve and 108-108-108-108-108-108-108 stitches on front piece/back piece. Do not work this section in size XS; continue to ALL SIZES. SIZE S-M-L-XL-XXL-XXXL: Continue the established pattern and continue increases for raglan every other round (= 8 stitches increased per increase round) 0-2-5-5-6-7-7 more times (i.e. until start in A.4 and A.5). On sleeves work the increased stitches in double moss stitch (= A.6 - make sure that A.6 fits over stitches worked in established pattern). There are now 364-380-404-404-412-420-420 stitches on needle, 74-78-84-84-86-88-88 stitches on each sleeve and 108-112-118-118-120-122-122 stitches on front piece/back piece. ALL SIZES: Increases on sleeves are now done. Continue in established pattern and continue increase but now only increase on front piece and back piece. Increase every other round (= 4 stitches increased per increase round) 3-3-2-5-7-10-14 times. Work the increased stitches in double moss stitch. There are now 376-392-412-424-440-460-476 stitches on needle, 74-78-84-84-86-88-88 stitches on each sleeve and 114-118-122-128-134-142-150 stitches on front piece/back piece. Continue with pattern as before without increase until piece measures 20-21-23-25-28-32-36 cm from marker mid front. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next round is worked, divide yoke for body and sleeves at the raglan stitches as follows: Slip the first 74-78-84-84-86-88-88 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 5-7-9-11-13-15-17 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 114-118-122-128-134-142-150 stitches as before (= front piece), slip the next 74-78-84-84-86-88-88 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 5-7-9-11-13-15-17 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve) and work the last 114-118-122-128-134-142-150 stitches as before (= back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 238-250-262-278-294-314-334 stitches. Work established pattern, work the new stitches in each side in double moss stitch. Work pattern as before until piece measures 51-53-55-56-57-59-61 cm from marker mid front. Switch to circular needles size 4 mm, work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing 42-38-38-38-34-30-30 stitches evenly on first round = 196-212-224-240-260-284-304 stitches. When rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jumper measures 55-57-59-60-62-64-66 cm from marker mid front and approx. 60-62-64-66-68-70-72 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 74-78-84-84-86-88-88 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 5 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 5-7-9-11-13-15-17 stitches cast on under sleeve– read SLEEVE TIP = 79-85-93-95-99-103-105 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 5-7-9-11-13-15-17 new stitches under sleeve - round begins in this stitch and this stitch is always worked in stocking stitch. Work in the round with pattern as before on needle, work the new stitches on each side of stitch mid under sleeve in double moss stitch (A.6) - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 3 cm from division, decrease mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 10-8-5-5-4-3½-3 cm 3-5-8-8-9-10-10 times in total = 73-75-77-79-81-83-85 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 47-47-45-45-40-38-34 cm from division. Work next round as follows: Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm and work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) while AT THE , SAME TIME decreasing 17-15-17-15-17-15-17 stitches evenly on first round = 56-60-60-64-64-68-68 stitches. Continue rib in the round like this until rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm – cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 51-51-49-49-45-43-39 cm from division. ASSEMBLY: Fold rib at the top of neck down on inside of garment. Fasten rib to get a double neck edge. |
