Hallo! Was muss ich an der Anleitung verändern, wenn ich unten keinen Schlitz möchte, sondern den Pullover gleich in Runden stricken will. Kann ich einfach Runden stricken oder brauche ich weniger Maschen? Vielen Dank!

Liebe Barbara, also wenn Sie keinen Schlitz unten möchten stricken Sie entweder einfach wie beschrieben dann nähen Sie die ganze Seite zusammen, oder stricken Sie ja in Runden, dann brauchen Sie keine Randmasche - die Anleitung dann entsprechend anpassen; Viel Spaß beim Stricken!

Hello, could you please advise what size needles I should use to create the tension square for the jumper - 11 stitches x 11 rows? The pattern uses 6mm and 8mm needles and I’m not sure which I should use. Thank you!
04.08.2024 - 14:21DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kristen, if there is only one gauge is given, then it is the one that should be used for the main part of the pattern. Please do make a gauge swatch and based on that decide which needle you should use for the body, and from that you can calculate the other ones (the ones used for the edging for example). Happy Knitting.

Podstawy czytania naszych wzorów znajdziesz w kursie DROPS TUTAJ. W razie pytań śmiało pisz. Pozdrawiamy!

On the double neck part - what does - all purl -1 to purl -2 mean
26.10.2021 - 12:45DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kate, to "increase all purl -1 to purl -2" means that we have to add 1 stitch to every purl stitch (so purl 1 becomes purl 2). We can do this increasing in various ways, for ex. by YO - see our video tutorials under the pattern. Happy knitting!

Knitted jumper and hat in 1 strand DROPS Fabel and 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk. The piece is worked in stocking stitch with ribbed edges. Sizes S - XXXL.
DROPS 227-16 |
||||
------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced): To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on needle (e.g. 75 stitches) minus the edge stitches (e.g. 2 stitches) and divide the remaining stitches by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 20) = 3.7. In this example decrease by knitting together alternately each 2nd and 3rd stitch and each 3rd and 4th stitch (approx.). Do not decrease the edge stitches. DECREASE TIP-2 (for jumper): All decreases are worked from the right side! BEFORE NECK: Work until there are 6 stitches left before the neck, knit 2 together, knit 4 (= 1 stitch decreased). AFTER NECK: Knit 4, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (1 stitch decreased). INCREASE TIP (for sleeves on the jumper): All increases are worked from the right side! Work 1 edge stitch, 1 yarn over, work until there is 1 stitch left, 1 yarn over and 1 edge stitch. On the next row purl the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. DOUBLE STRAND TIP (for hat): When working with 2 strands from 1 ball, use the strand from both the inside and the outside of the ball. DECREASE TIP-3 (for hat): Work until there are 2 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased). Decrease like this at all markers. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in sections bottom up and then sewn together. The neck is worked to finish. BACK PIECE: Cast on 69-75-81-87-97-107 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and 1 strand DROPS Fabel and 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 3 strands). Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, rib (knit 1, purl 1) until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib back and forth for 12 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 18-20-22-22-26-28 stitches evenly spaced – read DECREASE TIP-1, and cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the row = 52-56-60-66-72-80 stitch. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Purl 1 row from the wrong side and cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the row = 53-57-61-67-73-81 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm, cast off 1-1-2-4-6-8 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows for the armholes = 51-55-57-59-61-65 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm, cast off the middle 17-17-19-19-21-21 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side, and cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 16-18-18-19-19-21 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work in the same way as the back piece until the piece measures 52-54-54-56-56-58 cm – adjust so the next row is from the right side (= 51-55-57-59-61-65 stitches on the needle). Place the middle 11 stitches on a thread for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side, and decrease 1 stitch by the neck on each row from the right side 4-4-5-5-6-6 times – read DECREASE TIP-2 = 16-18-18-19-19-21 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. SLEEVES: Cast on 44-44-46-46-50-50 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and 1 strand DROPS Fabel and 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 3 strands). Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, rib (knit 1, purl 1) until there is 1 stitch left, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When the rib measures 12 cm, knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 10-10-10-10-12-12 stitches evenly spaced – remember DECREASE TIP-1 = 34-34-36-36-38-38 stitches. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. When the sleeve measures 14 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 8-6½-6-5-4½-3½ cm a total of 5-6-6-7-7-8 times = 44-46-48-50-52-54 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 49-49-48-46-45-43 cm, or to desired length (approx. 1-1-2-4-5-7 cm left for the sleeve cap). Insert 1 marker on each side – they mark the bottom of the armhole and are used when sewing the sleeves to the body. Continue working until the sleeve measures 50 cm in all sizes. Cast off with knit from the right side. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams inside the cast-off edge. Sew in the sleeves, inside the 1 edge stitch along the armholes and the cast-off edge on the sleeve cap. Sew together the bottoms of the armholes – the markers on the sleeve should match the sides of the body – see sketch. Sew the sleeve and side seams in one go inside the 1 edge stitch, leaving a 12 cm split at the bottom of each side seam. DOUBLE NECK: Knit up from the right side, inside the 1 edge stitch, 46 to 66 stitches around the neck (including the stitches on the thread) with circular needle size 6 mm and 1 strand DROPS Fabel and 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 3 strands). The number of stitches should be divisible by 2. Work rib in the round (purl 1, knit 1) for 10 cm. On the next round increase all purl-1 to purl-2 = 69 to 99 stitches. Continue the new rib until the neck measures 12 cm. Cast off – read CASTING-OFF TIP. ASSEMBLY: Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round, bottom up. HAT: Cast on 64-68-72 stitches with circular needle size 7 mm and 1 strand DROPS Fabel and 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 3 strands) – read DOUBLE STRAND TIP. Purl 1 round. Then work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 14 cm. Knit 1 round where you decrease 10-12-14 stitches evenly spaced – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 54-56-58 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 8 mm. Continue with stocking stitch for 13-15-17 cm (the hat measures 27-29-31 cm from the cast-on edge). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Insert 8 markers as follows: Insert the first marker at the beginning of the round, the next marker after 6-7-8 stitches, then the other 6 markers with 7 stitches between each one; 6-7-8 stitches left on the round after the last marker. On the next round decrease 1 stitch before each marker – read DECREASE TIP-3. Decrease like this every 4th round a total of 3 times = 30-32-34 stitches. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 15-16-17 stitches. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 until there is 1-0-1 stitch left on the round and knit 1-0-1 = 8-8-9 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 34-36-38 cm from the cast-on edge (= 25-27-29 cm with 9 cm turn-up). |
