Knitting tension: 21 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm with needle size 4 mm and stocking stitch. Remember needle size is only a guide! Rib: * K 2, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. Ridge/Garter stitch (in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. Decrease tip (for raglan decreases): Decrease on inside of 2 stitches as described in text. Decrease as follows from right side: After raglan stitches: K2 together. Before raglan stitches: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, K 1, pass slipped stitch over. Decrease as follows from wrong side: After raglan stitches: P 2 twisted together. Before raglan stitches: P 2 together. Crochet lace edge (for neck): Round 1: 1 double crochet in each stitch, finish with 1 slip stitch in first double crochet. Round 2: * 4 chain stitches, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch at beginning of round. Crochet lace edge (for sleeves): Round 1: 1 double crochet in each stitch, finish with 1 slip stitch in first double crochet. Round 2: * 4 chain stitches, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 2 chain stitches. Round 3: 1 double crochet in chain-space, * (4 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in chain-space) 2 times, 4 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in next chain-space *, repeat from *-*, finish with (4 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in chain-space) 2 times, 1 slip stitch in first double crochet. ------------------------------------------------------------ Body: Cast on 174-192-210-225-243 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed and work rib for 4 cm. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and work stocking stitch at the same time as you increase 2-2-0-1-1 stitches evenly on first round = 176-194-210-226-244 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in each side (there should be 88-97-105-113-122 stitches on each side of the marker thread). When piece measures 5 cm increase 1 stitch on each side of marker threads in each side every 13th-18th-19th-15th-16th round a total of 3 times = 188-206-222-238-256 stitches. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 28-29-30-31-32 cm, cast off 8 stitches in each side for armholes (i.e. 4 stitches on each side of marker threads). There are now 86-95-103-111-120 stitches on front and back pieces. Lay piece to one side and work sleeves. Sleeve: Cast on 42-44-46-48-50 stitches with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed and work 1 ridge. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue with stocking stitch to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures 6 cm increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve a total of 18-20-21-18-20 times for Size S: Alternately every 3rd and 4th row. Sizes M, L and XL: Every 3rd row and Size XXL: Alternately every 2nd and 3rd row. NOTE! In Sizes XL and XXL continue to increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve a total of 4 times every 2nd row = 78-84-88-92-98 stitches. When sleeve measures 32-31-31-31-31 cm cast off 8 stitches mid under sleeve for armhole = 70-76-80-84-90 stitches. Lay piece to one side and work 1 more sleeve. Yoke: Place sleeves on same circular needle size 4 mm as body, where you cast off stitches for armholes = 312-342-366-390-420 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in all transitions between body and sleeves = 4 marker threads. Continue with stocking stitch upwards at the same time as you decrease to raglan: Raglan decrease: Read the whole of the next section before continuing. There are 8 decreases per round and 2 stitches between decreases (i.e. 1 stitch on each side of marker threads). These 2 stitches = raglan stitches and are worked in stocking stitch. Decrease on each side of the raglan stitches - see Decrease tip: 1 stitch a total of 2-2-2-3-3 times every 4th round, 1 stitch a total of 16-15-14-13-12 ganger every 2nd round and 1 stitch a total of 10-14-18-20-24 times every round. NOTE! On front piece, the decreases to raglan will eventually overlap the decreases for neck, there will therefore be fewer decreases on front than on back - the numbers given above are for the back decreases, decrease in front until you meet the neck. At the same time, when piece measures 40-42-44-46-48 cm cast off the middle 14-16-16-18-18 stitches on front piece for neck. Then decrease towards neck every 2nd row: 2 stitches 2 times, then 1 stitch 6 times. NOTE! The neck decreases should overlap the raglan decreases, not the other way round. After all decreases to raglan and neck there are approx 60 to 70 stitches left on needle and piece measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58 cm up to shoulder. Neck: Place stitches around neck on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and, in addition, knit up approx. 40 to 50 stitches over front piece = 100 to 120 stitches. Work 1 ridge with Silke-Tweed and cast off. Crochet lace edge with hook size 3 mm and Cotton Viscose - see description above. Assembly: Sew opening under sleeves. Sleeve: Crochet lace edge with hook size 3 mm and Cotton Viscose - see description above. Decorative cord: Cut 1 strand Silke-Tweed and 1 strand Cotton Viscose of approx. 300 cm each. Twist them together until they begin to resist, fold cord double and allow it to continue to twist. Tie a knit in each end and thread the cord through the first round after the rib on body - start mid front. |
