NEW BALL TIP: When changing to a new ball, split the thread ends, moisten and twist them. MEASUREMENT TIP: Because of the weight of the yarn, make all measurements whilst the garment is hanging, otherwise it will be too long when worn. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. PATTERN: See diagram M.1 and M.2. Diagrams show the pattern from RS. BUTTONHOLES: Make buttonholes on right front band. 1 buttonhole = K tog 2nd and 3rd st from mid front and make 1 YO. On next row K YO into back of loop. Make buttonholes when piece measures: Size S: 25, 36 and 47 cm. Size M: 27, 38 and 49 cm. Size L: 29, 40 and 51 cm. Size XL: 29, 41 and 53 cm. Size XXL: 31, 43 and 55 cm. Size XXXL: 33, 45 and 57 cm. INCREASING TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. On next row work YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. DECREASING TIP (applies to raglan): Dec each side of marker. Dec as follows from RS: Before marker: K2/P2 tog After marker: slip 1 st as if to K, K1/P1, psso. Dec as follows from WS: Before marker: K2/P2 tog into back of loop. After marker: K2/P2 tog. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- JACKET: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. See NEW BALL TIP! LOOSELY cast on 75-80-86-93-101-108 sts (includes 4 front band sts each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 15 mm with Polaris. Insert a marker 21-22-23-25-27-29 sts in from each side (= 33-36-40-43-47-50 sts between markers on back piece). Work stocking st with 4 GARTER STS each side towards mid front – see above (first row = RS). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 7 cm - see MEASUREMENT TIP - dec 1 st on the left side of both markers (= 2 dec sts). Repeat the dec on the right and left side of markers alternately when piece measures 14, 21 and 28 cm = 67-72-78-85-93-100 sts. REMEMBER BUTTONHOLES ON RIGHT FRONT BAND! When piece measures 34-35-36-37-38-38 cm cast off 4-4-4-6-6-6 sts each side for armhole (= 2-2-2-3-3-3 sts each side of marker) = 25-28-32-33-37-40 sts on back piece and 17-18-19-20-22-24 sts on each front piece. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. LOOSELY cast on 24-26-26-28-30-32 sts on circular needle size 15 mm with Polaris. Work first row as follows from RS: 1 garter st, 8-9-9-10-11-12 sts in reverse stocking st, M.1 (= 6 sts), 8-9-9-10-11-12 sts in reverse stocking st and 1 garter st. Continue in pattern like this. When piece measures 6 cm inc 1 st inside garter st on one side of piece – see INCREASING TIP – work inc st in reverse stocking st. Repeat the inc on the other side of piece when piece measures 12 cm = 26-28-28-30-32-34 sts. When piece measures 19-19-18-18-17-16 cm (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) cast off 2-2-2-3-3-3 sts each side for armhole = 22-24-24-24-26-28 sts. Put piece aside and knit the other sleeve, but work M.2 instead of M.1 to mirror the cables. YOKE: Slip sleeves on the same circular needle as body pieces where cast off for armholes = 103-112-118-121-133-144 sts. Insert a marker in all transitions between body pieces and sleeves = 4 markers. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! Continue as before with 4 front band sts in garter st each side towards mid front, stocking st on body piece and reverse stocking st and cables on sleeves. AT THE SAME TIME dec for raglan = 8 dec pr row - see DECREASING TIP! Dec on every other row a total of 7-7-8-9-9-9 times, then on every row 1-2-1-0-1-2 times. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm cast off for neck each side towards mid front on every other row: 6-6-7-8-9-10 sts 1 time and 1 st 1 time = 25-26-30-31-33-34 sts. When piece measures approx 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm - adjust to after at least 2 rows after a cable in M.1/M.2 and REMEMBER MEASUREMENT TIP – cast off all sts. NOTE! Leave enough thread to crochet border round neckline. CROCHET BORDER: Crochet a row of approx 28-28-30-30-32-34 dc from WS round neckline with crochet hook size 12 mm and Polaris. ASSEMBLY: Sew sleeve seams, edge to edge in outer loops of sts. Sew openings under sleeves, edge to edge. Sew on buttons. |
