PATTERN: See diagram M.1 to M.3. Diagram shows the pattern from RS. GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. --------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 172-188-204-220-240-264 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm with 1 thread of each quality - Classic Alpaca + Kid-Silk or Puna + Kid-Silk (= 2 threads). K 1 round and continue as follows: * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* on the next 20-24-28-32-36-44 sts, M.1A (= 8 sts), P5, M.2A (= 24 sts), P5, M.3A (= 8 sts), P2, * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* on the next 100-112-124-136-152-168 sts. Continue like this. When piece measures 10 cm change to circular needle size 6 mm and work next round as follows: P the first 20-24-28-32-36-44 sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec 5-6-7-8-7-11 sts evenly on these sts, M.1A, P5, M.2B, P5, M.3A, P the last 102-114-126-138-154-170 sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec 17-20-23-26-27-31 evenly on these sts = 150-162-174-186-206-222 sts. Insert 2 markers in piece, 1 at beg of round and 1 after 80-86-92-98-108-116 sts (back piece = 70-76-82-88-98-106 sts). After 1 vertical repeat of M.2B continue as follows: P 15-18-21-24-29-33, M.1B, P5, M.2 C, P5, M.3B, and finish with P 85-94-103-112-127-139. AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st each side of both markers (= 4 dec per round), repeat the dec on every 4.5 cm a total of 6 times = 126-138-150-162-182-198 sts. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When piece measures 37 cm, adjust to after row 9 in M.2C, work next round as follows: P 9-12-15-18-23-27, M.1B, P5, K sts on M.2C, AT THE SAME TIME dec 6 sts evenly on these 24 sts, P5, M.3B, P 67-76-85-94-109-121 = 120-132-144-156-176-192 sts on round. Continue as follows: P 9-12-15-18-23-27, M.1B, P5, 18 GARTER STS – see above, P5, M.3B, P 67-76-85-94-109-121. Work 6 rounds like this. Now divide the piece as follows: work the first 31-34-37-40-45-49 sts (to mid front), turn and work all sts on round. Now continue back and forth on needle from mid front in M.1/M.3 as before with 9 garter sts each side towards mid front. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 40 cm inc 1 st each side of both markers, and repeat the inc on every 3-3-4-4-5-5 cm a total of 4 times = 136-148-160-172-192-208 sts. When piece measures 54-55-56-57-58-59 cm cast off 6 sts each side for armhole (= 3 sts each side of marker), and now complete each piece separately. BACK PIECE: = 60-66-72-78-88-96 sts. Now continue in reverse stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole each side at beg of every row: 2 sts 0-1-2-3-4-6 times and 1 st 2-3-3-3-5-5 times = 56-56-58-60-62-62 sts. When piece measures 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm cast off the middle 14-14-16-18-20-20 sts for neck, and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 20 sts left on shoulder for all sizes. Cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: = 32-35-38-41-46-50 sts. Continue in pattern as before and cast off for armhole at the side as described for back piece = 30-30-31-32-33-33 sts. When piece measures 68-70-72-72-74-76 cm slip 5 sts towards mid front on a stitch holder, and cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 1-1-2-3-4-4 times. When piece measures 73-75-77-79-81-83 cm dec 2 sts evenly on M.3 = 20 sts. Cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Like right front piece, but mirrored. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 44-44-48-48-52-52 sts on double pointed needles size 5.5 mm with 1 thread of each quality (Classic Alpaca + Kid-Silk or Puna + Kid-Silk). P 1 round and continue in rib K2/ P2. When piece measures 10 cm change to double pointed needles size 6 mm, K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME dec 10-8-10-8-10-8 sts evenly = 34-36-38-40-42-44 sts. Insert a marker at beg of round. Continue in reverse stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st each side of marker, and repeat the inc on every 3.5-3.5-3-3-2.5-2 cm a total of 10-11-11-12-14-14 times = 54-58-60-64-70-72 sts. When piece measures 48-48-47-45-45-43 cm (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) cast off 3 sts each side of marker and complete piece back and forth on needle. Cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 0-1-2-3-4-6 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-56-56-56-57-57 cm, now cast off 3 sts 1 time each side, and cast off remaining sts. Piece measures approx 56-57-57-57-58-58 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. AT THE SAME TIME on row 3 inc 20 sts evenly = 68-72-76-80-84-88 sts. Continue in garter st until piece measures 35-35-36-36-37-37 cm, cast off. Fold hood double and sew tog from RS. BUTTON COVERS: Crochet 2 button covers with crochet hook size 4.5 mm with 1 thread of each quality - Classic Alpaca + Kid-Silk or Puna + Kid-Silk (= 2 threads) as follows: Work 2 ch, then 6 dc in the first ch, finish with 1 sl st in first dc (= round 1). ROUND 2: 1 ch, 2 dc in each dc and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round (= 12 dc). ROUND 3 + 4: 1 ch, 1 dc in each dc and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round (= 12 dc).
