P 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 1 edge st, * P3, K2 *, repeat from *-* until 4 sts remain, P3, 1 edge st. Continue like this until rib measures approx 2 cm. Now K 1 row from WS, AT THE SAME TIME dec 26-28-28-33-36-34 sts evenly = 94-102-112-122-134-146 sts. Continue in reverse stocking st. When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm cast off 3 sts each side for armhole and cast off each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 2-4-6-8-10-13 times and 1 st 2-2-1-2-2-2 times = 76-76-80-80-84-84 sts. Continue in reverse stocking st. When piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm cast off the middle 32-34-34-36-36-38 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 21-20-22-21-23-22 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 72-77-82-92-97-102 sts (includes 1 edge st at the side and 12 front band sts towards mid front) on needle size 4 mm with Classic Alpaca, Puna or Muskat. P 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 1 edge st, * K2, P3 *, repeat from *-* until 16 sts remain, M.1 (= 4 sts) and front band: P3, K2, P3, K2 and 2 garter sts. Continue like this until rib measures approx 2 cm. Now K 1 row from WS, (work front band and M.1 as before), AT THE SAME TIME dec 13-14-14-19-18-17 sts evenly = 59-63-68-73-79-85 sts. Continue in reverse stocking st and M.1 and 12 front band sts towards mid front. When piece measures 23 cm (adjust to a full vertical repeat of M.1) continue as follows from the RS: 1 edge st, reverse stocking st until 33 sts remain, work these as follows: M.2 (= 21 sts) and 12 front band sts as before (the cable at the end of M.2 now sits over M.1). Work 1 vertical repeat of M.2 like this and now continue in reverse stocking st, M.1 and 12 front band sts as before. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm cast off for armhole at the side as described for back piece = 50-50-52-52-54-54 sts. When piece measures 48-50-51-53-54-56 cm slip 16 sts towards mid front on a stitch holder. Cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 4-5-5-6-6-7 times = 21-20-22-21-23-22 sts left on shoulder. Continue in reverse stocking st until piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. Cast off loosely. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Like left front piece, but mirrored, i.e. work M.3 instead of M.1 and M.4 instead of M.2. Remember BUTTONHOLES – see above. SLEEVE: Cast on 67-72-72-77-82-82 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 mm with Classic Alpaca, Puna or Muskat. P 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 1 edge st, * K2, P3 *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 edge st. When rib measures 2 cm K 1 row from WS, AT THE SAME TIME dec 11-14-12-15-16-14 sts evenly = 56-58-60-62-66-68 sts. Continue in reverse stocking st. When piece measures 8 cm inc 1 st each side on every 5-4-3.5-3-2.5-2 cm a total of 8-9-10-12-13-15 times = 72-76-80-86-92-98 sts. When piece measures 47-46-45-45-43-42 cm – less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder – cast off 3 sts each side for sleeve cap and cast off each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 4-3-3-4-3-2 times and 1 st 2-7-9-9-13-17 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-56-56-57-57-58 cm, now cast off 3 sts each side 1 time and cast off remaining sts. Piece measures approx 56-57-57-58-58-59 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeve and side seams inside 1 edge st. Sew on buttons NECKLINE: Pick up 108 to 126 sts (incl sts on stitch holders at front) on needle size 4 mm round neckline (from RS). Work 6 rows garter st – see above – with 12 front band sts each side towards mid front as before. Cast of loosely. |
