The piece is worked in the round, top down and with stripes. Sizes S-XL.
DROPS 221-42 |
|
------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CROCHET INFORMATION: The first double crochet on the round is replaced by 1 chain stitch. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch at the beginning of the round. When changing colours on the next round, it is a good idea to change the strand before working the last slip stitch – the stripes will then be neater. NOTE! Do not cut the strand after changing colours, but allow it to follow your work onwards on the inside of the hat. STRIPES: The chain-stitch ring and round 1 are worked with ice blue, then stripes are worked as follows: * 1 round ice blue, 1 round spray blue, 1 round beige, 1 round off-white, 1 round sage green, 2 rounds off-white *, work from *-* onwards. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 4.5 mm and ice blue and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Read CROCHET INFORMATION. ROUND 1: Work 6 double crochets around the ring with ice blue. Now work STRIPES – read description above. ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in each double crochet = 12 stitches. ROUND 3: * 1 double crochet in the first/next stitch, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 18 stitches. ROUND 4: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 2 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 24 stitches. ROUND 5: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 3 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 30 stitches. ROUND 6: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 4 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 36 stitches. ROUND 7: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 5 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 42 stitches. ROUND 11: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 9 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 66 stitches. ROUND 12: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 10 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 72 stitches. ROUND 13: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 11 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 78 stitches. ROUND 14: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 12 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 84 stitches. The increases are finished in size S/M. SIZE L/XL: ROUND 15: * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 13 stitches, 2 double crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 90 stitches. ALL SIZES: Continue with stripes but without further increases until the piece measures approx. 17-19 cm. Now work a brim with ice blue; the other strands are cut. BRIM: Change to ice blue and work as follows: ROUND 1: Work 1 double crochet in each stitch to end of round = 84-90 stitches.
