I don't understand the pattern instruction to do 2 rows SS on RS, 1 row SS on WS. Does this mean K 1 row , P 1 row, P 1 row. I'm confused! Thanks, Julie
06.01.2023 - 19:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Hepburn, you will repeat (2 rows stocking stitch, 1 row reverse stocking stitch), when working stocking stitch knit from RS and purl from WS (you might have to start with a WS row, then you will purl from WS and knit from RS), when you work 1 row reverse stocking stitch, you should purl from RS or knit from WS. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Do you decrease 1 st each side at 10cm, then every 5cm? Or do you reach 10 cm, then knot another 5 cm before the first decrease?
26.05.2019 - 00:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mme Fromage, you should decrease 1 stitch when you get to 10 cm, then repeat the decrease at every 5th cm. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

Measuring tip: Because of the pattern, the piece should be measured whilst being held up to maintain the measurements in the sketch. Front piece: Read measuring tip! Cast on 86-94-102-110-120 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm with 1 strand Muskat + 1strand Glitter. Work garter st upwards. Remember knitting tension! When the piece measures 10 cm cast off 1 st in each side every 5th cm in total 4 times = 78-86-94-102-112 sts. Read the next description carefully before continuing! Side increases: When piece measures 30-31-32-33-34 cm inc 1 st in each side every 4th cm in total 4 times = 86-94-102-110-120 sts. Continue to cast off each side of neck every 2nd row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 4 times = 16-17-17-17-18 sts remain for each shoulder. Cast off when the piece measures 66-68-70-72-74 cm. Back piece: Cast on and work as for front piece. Cast off for armholes as for front piece and work until the piece measures 64-66-68-70-72 cm. Cast off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew right shoulder seam. Neck: Pick up approx. 95 - 105 sts round the neck using double pointed needles size 5 mm with 1 strand Muskat + 1 strand Glitter. Work 2 ridges, cast off. Sew the left shoulder seam and up along neck edge. Crochet with 1 strand Muskat + 1 strand Glitter on hook size 3.5 mm round neck edge as follows: 1 dc, * 3 ch, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in outermost link of outermost st so that the seam is not too thick - NB: Leave the bottom 12 cm in each side for the slit. |
