Pozdrawiamy!

I’m knitting size xs it says cast on 100 stitches, count 15 each for the sleeves, 33 for front , 33 for back, I’m left with 4 stitches.

Dear Heather, please note that the markers should be each inserted in one stitch (and not between stitches), so that you will have: 1 stitch with a marker, 15 sts for the sleeve, 1 stitch with a marker, 33 sts for front piece, 1 stitch with a marker,15 sts for the sleeve, 1 stitch with a marker and 33 sts for back piece = 1+15+1+33+1+15+1+33=100. Happy knitting!

(Of iedere tweede naald :)

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, on next round knit yarns over as explained below: BEFORE MARKER: Slip stitch off left needle and put it back on left needle but the opposite way (insert left needle in from behind when slipping it back on needle). Knit yarn overs in front loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. AFTER MARKER: Knit yarn overs in back loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve so that the holes closes. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder back, and work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. NECK EDGE: Cast on 100-104-104-108-112-116 stitches on circular needle size 5.5 mm with 1 strand DROPS Soft Tweed and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Switch to circular needle size 4 mm (cast on on a larger needle to get an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib in the round (= knit 1/purl 1) for 4-4-4-4-4½-4½ cm. Beginning of round is at right shoulder at the back. Insert 1 marker after the first 34-35-35-36-37-38 stitches on round (= approx. mid front), measures piece from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm. Insert 4 markers in piece without working the stitches, insert markers in a stitch and these stitches are called raglan stitches and worked in stocking stitch. Insert 1st marker in first stitch, count 15 stitches (= sleeve), insert 2nd marker in next stitch, count 33-35-35-37-39-41 stitches (= front piece), insert 3rd marker in next stitch, count 15 stitches (= sleeve), insert 4th marker in next stitch, 33-35-35-37-39-41 stitches remain after last marker (= back piece). Work in stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the 4 markers - read explanation above. Increase for raglan every other round 16-17-19-21-22-23 times in total = 228-240-256-276-288-300 stitches (= 8 stitches increased on every increase round). Remember to follow the knitting tension! Increases for sleeve are now done, but continue to increase for raglan on front piece and back piece on every other round 4-4-4-3-4-6 more times = 244-256-272-288-304-324 stitches on needle (= 4 stitches increased on every increase round). Work without increasing until piece measures 19-20-22-23-25-27 cm from marker after neck edge. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next round is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 1 stitch (= belongs to back piece), slip the next 47-49-53-57-59-61 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-8-10-12-14-16 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 75-79-83-87-93-101 stitches in stocking stitch (= front piece), slip the next 47-49-53-57-59-61 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-8-10-12-14-16 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve) and work the last 74-78-82-86-92-100 stitches in stocking stitch (= back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 162-174-186-198-214-234 stitches. Insert 1 marker in one side of piece (= in the middle of the 6-8-10-12-14-16 stitches that were cast on under sleeve). Work until marker, round begins here and work in the round. Work stocking stitch until piece measures 45-47-49-51-52-54 cm from marker mid front. Switch to circular needles size 4 mm, work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 32-32-34-38-40-44 stitches evenly on 1st round = 194-206-220-236-254-278 stitches. When rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jumper measures 49-51-53-55-57-59 cm from marker mid front and approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 47-49-53-57-59-61 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 5.5 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 6-8-10-12-14-16 stitches cast on under sleeve - read SLEEVE TIP = 53-57-63-69-73-77 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 6-8-10-12-14-16 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stocking stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 2 cm from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 7½-6½-4½-3½-2½-2 cm 5-6-8-10-12-13 times in total = 43-45-47-49-49-51 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 37-37-36-36-33-32 cm from division. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm and work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 7-9-9-9-9-9 stitches evenly on 1st round = 50-54-56-58-58-60 stitches. When rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 41-41-40-40-38-37 cm from division. |
