09.09.2024 - 18:14DROPS Design answered:
Hei, suuremmassa koossa on lyhyempi mitta, koska hihanpyöriö on korkeampi ja olka on leveämpi.

Between the neck and the yoke ,in XXL, there are 4 missing stitches, you start with 76 and then at the first raglan you divide 12+2+11+2+25+2+11+2+13= 80 st. Am I wrong?
10.05.2024 - 22:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nataly, in your calculations, you count the one stitches (into which you should knit two stitches) as two stitches. Your row should look like 12+1 (knit two in this stitch)+11+1knit two in this stitch)+25+1knit two in this stitch)+11+1knit two in this stitch)+13 = 76 stitch (+4 increased stitch). If you add the yarnovers, you get 88 stitches for size XL. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch before/after 2 stocking stitches in each transition between body and sleeves. These 2 stitches are called raglan-lines in the text. Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is knitted on the next round to leave a hole. STRIPES: Work stripes as follows (always with 2 strands DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk): 17-18-19-20-21-22 cm (including 4 cm neck) with 1 strand colour off-white and 1 strand colour pacific blue 4 cm with 1 strand colour off-white and 1 strand colour cobalt blue 13 cm with 1 strand colour cobalt blue and 1 strand colour pacific blue 5 cm with 1 strand colour cobalt blue and 1 strand colour off-white 7 cm with 1 strand colour off-white and 1 strand colour pacific blue Use 1 strand colour off-white and 1 strand colour cobalt blue down to the rib on the body and sleeves. The rib is worked with 1 strand colour pacific blue and 1 strand colour cobalt blue. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down. When the yoke is finished, the stitches are divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 64-68-68-76-76-80 stitches with circular needle size 5.5 mm and 1 strand colour off-white and 1 strand colour pacific blue in DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm. Change to circular needle size 7 mm. Insert 1 marker mid-back; the yoke is measured from this marker. The piece is continued with STRIPES – read description above. YOKE: Work the first round as follows: Knit 10-10-10-12-12-14 (= approx. half back piece), make 1 yarn over, knit 2 in the next stitch (= raglan-line), make 1 yarn over, knit 11-11-11-11-11-11 (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, knit 2 in the next stitch (= raglan-line), make 1 yarn over, knit 19-21-21-25-25-27 (= front piece), make 1 yarn over, knit 2 in the next stitch (= raglan-line), make 1 yarn over, knit 11-11-11-11-11-11 (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, knit 2 in the next stitch (= raglan-line), make 1 yarn over, knit 9-11-11-13-13-13 (= approx. half back piece). The first increase for RAGLAN – read description above, is finished (= 8 increased stitches). In addition, you have increased 1 stitch in each raglan-line (= 4 increased stitches) = 76-80-80-88-88-92 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and increase for raglan on each side of the 4 raglan-lines every 2nd round a total of 14-14-18-18-16-17 times = 180-184-216-224-208-220 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue increasing as follows: Increase for raglan every 2nd round on the front and back pieces but on the sleeves only every 4th round (= alternately 4 and 8 increased stitches on the round). Increase like this 2-4-2-2-8-8 times on the body (1-2-1-1-4-4 times on the sleeves). You have increased a total of 16-18-20-20-24-25 times on the body and 15-16-19-19-20-21 times on the sleeves = 192-208-228-236-256-268 stitches. Continue working without further increases until the yoke measures 20-23-25-26-30-31 cm from the marker. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Knit 28-30-32-34-38-41 (= approx. half back piece), place the next 41-43-49-49-51-53 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches (= in side under sleeve), knit 55-61-65-69-77-81 (= front piece), place the next 41-43-49-49-51-53 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches (= in side under sleeve), knit the remaining 27-31-33-35-39-40 stitches (= approx. half back piece). The piece is now measured from here! BODY: = 122-134-142-154-170-182 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and stripes in the round until the body measures 29-28-28-29-27-28 cm. Change to circular needle size 5.5 mm and work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 14-18-22-26-22-24 stitches evenly on the first round = 136-152-164-180-192-206 stitches. When the rib measures 3 cm, cast off. The jumper measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 41-43-49-49-51-53 sleeve-stitches from the thread on one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 7 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 47-49-55-57-59-63 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and work stocking stitch and stripes in the round. When the sleeve measures 4 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 6-5-3½-3-2½-2 cm a total of 6-7-9-10-10-12 times = 35-35-37-37-39-39 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 40-38-37-35-32-31 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 5.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 5-5-5-5-7-7 stitches evenly on the first round = 40-40-42-42-46-46 stitches. When the rib measures 5 cm, cast off. The sleeve measures approx. 45-43-42-40-37-36 cm. |
