---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. DECREASE TIP (applies to neck on front piece): All decreases are done from the right side! DECREASE 1 STITCH AT THE BEGINNING OF ROW AS FOLLOWS (right shoulder): Work 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, knit 1, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 1 stitch decreased). DECREASE 1 STITCH AT THE END OF ROW AS FOLLOWS (left shoulder): Work until 4 stitches remain on needle, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased), knit 1, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. INCREASE TIP (applies to sleeves): Work until 2 stitches remain before marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread is in the middle of these 4 stitches), make 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarns over twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work back piece and front piece back and forth on circular pointed needles separately, bottom up. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/circular needle, top down. Work neck edge in the round at the end. BACK PIECE: Cast on 102-110-118-126-142-158 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with DROPS Air. Knit 1 row from wrong side. Continue in rib as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read explanation above, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains, finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When rib measures 8 cm, switch to circular needle size 5 mm. Work 1 row in stocking stitch while decreasing 16-16-16-16-22-24 stitches evenly = 86-94-102-110-120-134 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off for armholes as follows: Cast off 5-7-9-10-12-17 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 76-80-84-90-96-100 stitches. When piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, cast off the middle 26-28-30-32-34-36 stitches for neck. Finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off 1 stitch on next row from the neck = 24-25-26-28-30-31 stitches for shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm. Work the other shoulder the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 103-111-119-127-143-159 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with DROPS Air. Knit 1 row from wrong side. Continue in rib as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the first 24-28-32-36-44-52 stitches, knit 2, work A.1, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the next 24-28-32-36-44-52 stitches, knit 2, finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When rib measures 8 cm, switch to circular needle size 5 mm. Work as follows - from right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, knit the next 26-30-32-34-44-54 stitches, and decrease at the same time 8-8-8-8-11-12 stitches, A.2 over stitches in A.1, knit the next stitches, and decrease at the same time 8-8-8-8-11-12 stitches, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch = 87-95-103-111-121-135 stitches. Then work as follows from wrong side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, work 18-22-26-30-35-42 stitches in stocking stitch, A.2 over stitches in A.1, 18-22-26-30-35-42 stitches in stocking stitch, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue with A.2, stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off for armholes as follows: Cast off 5-7-9-10-12-17 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 77-81-85-91-97-101 stitches. When piece measures 46-48-49-51-52-53 cm, slip the middle 17-19-21-23-25-27 stitches on a thread for neck. Finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off for neck on every row from right side as follows: Cast off 1 stitch 6 times – read DECREASE TIP = 24-25-26-28-30-31 stitches on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm. Work the other shoulder the same way. SLEEVE: Cast on 63-63-63-71-71-71 stitches on double pointed needles size 4 mm. Insert a marker thread at beginning of round = mid under sleeve. Knit 1 round, then work rib as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* over the next 24-24-24-28-28-28 stitches, work A.3, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the next 24-24-24-28-28-28 stitches, knit 1. When piece measures 6 cm, switch to double pointed needles size 5 mm. Work as follows: Knit the first 25-25-25-29-29-29 stitches and decrease 2-1-0-3-2-1 stitches evenly, work A.4 over stitches in A.3, knit the last 25-25-25-29-29-29 stitches and decrease 2-1-0-3-2-1 stitches evenly = 59-61-63-65-67-69 stitches. Knit 23-24-25-26-27-28, A.4, knit 23-24-25-26-27-28. When piece measures 32-30-28-26-24-22 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side of marker thread - read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 4-3½-3-3-2½-2 cm 4-5-6-6-7-8 times in total = 67-71-75-77-81-85 stitches. When sleeve measures 48-47-46-44-42-39 cm, work sleeve cap back and forth (from mid under sleeve) on circular needle until finished measurements. Work until sleeve measures approx. 51-51-51-50-49-49 cm, i.e. there is a vent of 3-4-5-6-7-10 cm at the top of sleeve. Cast off. Work another sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew sleeve in armhole. Then sew vent at the top of sleeve to bottom of armhole - see chart. Sew side seams inside 1 edge stitch. NECK EDGE: Use a circular needle size 4 mm, start at one shoulder seam and pick up approx. 72 to 100 stitches around the neck. Number of stitches must be divisible 4. Work rib (= knit 2/purl 2). Continue like this until neck edge measures 4 cm. Cast off. |
