I'm having trouble with the point I put the stitch marker in to finish the back of the slipper is there anything you can tell me to make this easier to understand?
30.11.2016 - 05:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Thomas, the video below shows how to work such a kind of slipper, it should help you to vizualise how to continue back and forth from mid upper foot (to create opening for leg). Happy crocheting!

Why do you have have to put it double? would that not make it difficult to put your foot in it?

Dear Mrs Larson, the video below hows how to work a slipper from the toe, and how to put it double to work tog the back (from WS in this pattern). Happy crocheting!

CROCHET INFO: At beg of every dc round, replace first dc with 1 ch and finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch at beg of round. At beg of every tr round, replace first tr with 3 ch and finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. At beg of every dtr round, replace first dtr with 4 ch and finish round with 1 sl st in 4th ch at beg of round. Replace first dc at beg of every dc row with 1 ch, finish row with 1 dc in ch from beg of previous row. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 dc by working 2 dc in same st. DECREASE TIP: Work 1 dc but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next dc but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 sts on hook = 1 dc dec. PATTERN: ROUND 1: 1 tr in back loop of every dc. ROUND 2: 1 dc in back loop of every tr. ROUND 3: 1 dtr in back loop of every dc. ROUND 4: 1 dc in back loop of every dtr. ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Piece is worked in the round from toe to instep, then work back and forth to mid back on heel. Work the leg on slipper in the round at the end. FOOT: Round beg mid under foot. ROUND 1: Work 3 ch on hook size 7 mm with Snow and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 2: Work 5-5-6 dc in ch-ring – READ CROCHET INFO! ROUND 3: 2 dc in every dc = 10-10-12 dc. ROUND 4: Work * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 15-15-18 dc. ROUND 5: Work * 1 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next dc and 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 20-20-24 dc. ROUND 6: Work 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME inc 0-2-0 dc evenly - READ INCREASE TIP = 20-22-24 dc. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Then work 1 dc in every dc until piece measures approx. 14-16-18 cm. Insert 1 marker in the 13th-14th-15th dc from beg, now work from here. Fasten off. Now work back and forth. Beg on top of foot. Work first dc in dc at marker, work 1 dc in each of the next 13-15-17 dc, turn piece. Do not work over the last 6 dc on round. Continue with 1 dc in each of the 14-16-18 dc. When slipper measures 20-22-25 cm (i.e. approx. 6-6-7 cm from where it is divided), insert 1 marker in the middle of piece (= 7-8-9 dc on each side of marker). On next row dec 1 dc on each side of marker, i.e. beg 2 sts before marker and work the next 4 dc tog 2 by 2 – READ DECREASE TIP (= 2 dc dec) = 12-14-16 dc. Work 1 row without dec. Slipper measures approx. 22-24-27 cm from toe to heel. ASSEMBLY: Turn the slipper inside out, place it double and work tog the back from WS with a row of sl sts through both layers. Fasten off. LEG: Work in the round from seam mid back from RS. Insert 1 marker in the piece. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! Now work in dc-row around foot as follows: Work 9-11-12 dc evenly in dc-row until dc on top of foot, 1 dc in every dc on foot (= 6 dc), 9-11-12 dc evenly in dc-row until mid back = 24-28-30 dc. Then work PATTERN – see explanation above – until leg measures 25-26-27 cm. Work 1 round with 1 dc in every st. Fasten off. Work another slipper the same way. TIE AND POMPOMS: Crochet 1 ch-row of approx. 90 cm on hook size 7 mm with Snow. Thread tie up and down between every other st at the top row of leg on slipper, beg mid front. Make 2 dense pompoms with Snow with an approx. diameter of 5 cm. Fasten one pompom in each end of the tie. Tie a bow mid front. Make 1 tie with pompoms for the other slipper. |
