Also, if we had to increase/decrease the needle size to get the correct gauge with the 4mm needles do we need to do the same with the 3.5mm needles? Or do we use 3.5mm needles regardless?
07.12.2018 - 02:41DROPS Design answered:
Hi Agatha, If you need to decrease the needle size to get the right knitting tension, this will also be necessary for the size 3.5 mm needles. Happy knitting!

Hi, I'm confused about the different parts of the pattern. What exactly is the difference between the body piece and the front and back pieces?
07.12.2018 - 02:18DROPS Design answered:
Hi Afgatha, The body is worked in the round (so both back and front pieces) as far as the armholes. When you have cast off stitches for the armholes you will then work the front and back pieces separately working back and forth to finished length. Happy knitting!

Hi! I made this sweater for my brother in size L. The sizing is perfect except for the shoulders, neck and armpit parts, he says the sweater is too tight there and he cannot wear it like that. How can I fix this problem?
05.12.2018 - 23:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Barbara, did you get and keep the correct tension in height? This maybe the reason. A good idea could be to bring your jumper to your store - or send them a picture per mail - so tha they can help you finding the solution. Happy knitting!

Hi, I have a question about reading the charts, is one row on the chart one round when knitting or is it for two rounds?
03.12.2018 - 16:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Luna, each row in the diagram has to be worked, start reading diagrams from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left every round (when working in the round) or every RS row (when working back and forth, then you will read every WS row from the left towards the right). Happy knitting!

Hi, I'm confused about the needle sizes. Is the 40cm/80cm the length of the double pointed needles?
30.11.2018 - 03:06DROPS Design answered:
Dear Agatha, the 40 / 80 cm refers to the length of teh wire of th circular needles. I hope this helps. Happy Kntiing!

Hi, I'm having a hard time understanding the instructions where it says "slip 2 sts on cable needle in front of piece, K2, K2 from cable needle" what does it mean, do I slip 2 and then knit 4? or slip 2 and then knit 2 from the cable, and what does it mean by in front of piece? does it mean the right side or only when I'm in front of the jumper, if so what do I do on the back?
26.11.2018 - 22:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Julia, for this cable you slip 2 sts on a cable needle and leave the cable needle in front of work (cables are worked from RS, the cable needle should be facing you), then work the next 2 sts and now work the 2 sts from cable needle. This video shows how to work a cable placing sts either in front of work or behind the work. Happy knitting!

Thanks Drops, now I'm running into another problem. After the 12 ME stitches, I've knitted M3 (8), M4 (10), M3 (8), but M1 has 8 stitches and I don't see how I can repeat that chart for 52 stitches, if it doesn't go evenly into 52. What am I missing! Thanks.
24.11.2018 - 16:38DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ariana, to work A.1 over 52 sts, repeat A.1 a total of 6 times in width (= 8 sts x 6 times = 48 sts) then work the first 4 sts in A.1 = 48+6=52 sts. Happy knitting!

I am really struggling with this pattern. I am knitting size M and have just finished the two garter rounds after the initial ribbing. Am i really just supposed to knit M2 on the first 12 stitches, and then just M3 for the rest of the round? I don't understand how this will get me the design, but that's what the pattern seems to be saying. Please help! I am trying to finish this for my husband before Christmas.
23.11.2018 - 14:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Arianna, at the beg of piece after the 2 garter stitch round, work as follows: M.2 on the first 12 sts, then work diagrams: M.3 (= 8 sts), M.4 (= 10 sts), M.3 (= 8 sts), then M.1 on the next 52 sts, then work diagrams M.3 (= 8 sts), M.4 (= 10 sts), M.3 (= 8 sts), M.2 on the next 24 sts, M.3 (= 8 sts), M.4 (= 10 sts), M.3 (= 8 sts), M.1 on the next 52 sts, M.3 (= 8 sts), M.4 (= 10 sts), M.3 (= 8 sts), M.2 on the last 12 sts = 12+8+10+8+52+8+10+8+24+8+10+8+52+8+10+8+12= 256 sts. Happy knitting!

16.11.2018 - 04:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nermine, you will decrease and bind off at the same time as shown in this video - you will here decrease 2 sts in each decrease, and decrease 10-12 sts in M.1 (= repeat 5-6 times the dec), 2 st sin M.1, 3 sts in M.4 and 6 sts in M.5 as explained under DECREASE TIP. Happy knitting!

Hei. Strikker str large.

Repeat the inc on every 6-8-8-9-9-9-10 cm a total of 5 times = 248-260-276-296-332-348-368 sts. When piece measures 38-47-48-49-50-51-52 cm cast off 6 sts for armhole each side (= 3 sts each side of marker) and complete each piece separately (make sure cable rows are from RS after dividing piece). BACK PIECE: = 118-124-132-142-160-168-178 sts. Continue back and forth on circular needle. When piece measures 49-59-61-63-65-67-69 cm (adjust to back piece) cast off, AT THE SAME TIME dec 7-7-7-7-12-12-12 sts in diagram on cast off row. RIGHT SLEEVE: Worked in the round. Cast on 56-58-60-62-64-66-68 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with Karisma. Work 4 rounds garter st and continue in rib K1/P1 until piece measures 10 cm. Work 2 rounds garter st, AT THE SAME TIME inc 2 sts evenly on last round = 58-60-62-64-66-68-70 sts. Insert a marker at beg of round. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue in pattern on next round as follows: M.2 on the first 5-6-7-8-9-10-11 sts, M.3 2 times, M.5, M.3 2 times, M.2 on the last 5-6-7-8-9-10-11 sts. Continue in pattern like this. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 13-12-13-12-12-14-13 cm inc 1 st each side of marker. Work inc sts into M.2 as you go along. When piece measures 45-50-50-49-49-48-48 cm cast off 6 sts mid under sleeve (= 3 sts each side of marker) and complete piece back and forth on needle (make sure to have cable row from RS after dividing piece). Cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 2-4-6-7-9-10-12 times and 1 st 12-10-8-8-6-6-4 times = 48 sts left on needle for all sizes. Piece measures 55-60-60-60-60-60-60 cm. Now measure piece from here! Continue in pattern on remaining sts until piece measures 12-14-13-15-17-18-19 cm. Now cast off on right side of piece, at the beg of every row from RS as follows: 24 sts 1 time (AT THE SAME TIME as 14 of these 24 sts K2 tog before they are cast off), 3 sts 2 times. Work 3 rows without dec. Cast off 1 st on next row = 17 sts left for all sizes. Continue until piece measures 19-21-22-24-26-27-28 cm. Cast off, AT THE SAME TIME dec 4 sts evenly in diagram on cast off row. The whole sleeve now measures approx 74-81-82-84-86-87-88 cm. LEFT SLEEVE: Like right sleeve, but cast off at the top at the opposite side, i.e. at the beg of every row from WS. ASSEMBLY: Set in sleeves. Sew shoulder sts from body piece to M.3 each side of sleeve (in outer loops of sts). Sew the top of sleeves tog mid back and sew to back piece. NECKLINE: Pick up 94-94-108-108-108-108-108 sts round neckline on small circular needle size 3.5 mm with Karisma, Puna or Merino Extra Fine. Work 4 rounds garter st, AT THE SAME TIME on last row inc 22-22-26-26-26-26-26 sts evenly = 116-116-134-134-134-134-134 sts. Continue in rib K1/P1. When rib measures 8 cm work 2 rounds garter st and cast off. Fold neck double towards WS and fasten, garter st to garter st. |
