Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows. Knitting tip: When working 2 double thread Babyull, use 1 end from inside of ball and 1 end from the outside of ball (no need to divide the ball). Jacket: Cast on 48 sts on needle size 5 mm with 2 threads Vienna and work 2 rows garter st. Continue in stripes as follows: * 8 rows with 2 threads Babyull, 2 rows garter st with 1 threads Vienna * , at the same time make a buttonhole on every other row in Babyull (= 4 buttonholes in total). 1 buttonhole = cast off 3rd st from edge and cast on 1 new st on return row. Remember the knitting tension! After 18 rows (incl the first 2 in Vienna) work next row as follows: 11 sts = front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 18 sts = back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 11 st = front piece. Continue on back piece only for another 18 rows. Now cast off the middle 8 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off after another 4 rows. Now work the front piece with buttonholes. Work another 18 rows (remember buttonholes!) and now cast off 6 sts towards mid front for neck. Work another 4 rows on sts on shoulder and cast off. Work the other front piece in the same way, but without buttonholes. Sleeves: Cast on 20 sts on needle size 5 mm with 2 threads Vienna and work 2 rows garter st. Change to 2 threads Babyull and continue in garter st. When piece measures 4 cm inc 1 st each side = 22 sts. Cast off when piece measures 9.5 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 30 sts round neckline on needle size 5 mm with 2 threads Vienna and work 2 rows garter st, cast off. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons. Trousers: Cast on 52 sts on needle size 5 mm with 2 threads Babyull and work stocking st. When piece measures 4 cm inc 1 st in st 13, 14, 38 and 39 = 56 sts on row. When piece measures 7 cm inc 1 st in st 14, 15, 41 and 42 = 60 sts on row. When piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st in st 15, 16, 44 and 45 = 64 sts. When piece measures 12 cm work next row as follows: cast off 3 sts (= ½ mid piece), work 27 sts (= right leg), cast off 4 sts (= mid piece), work 27 sts (= left leg), cast off 3 sts (= ½ mid piece). Now work right leg as follows: When leg measures 2 cm and 4 cm cast off 1 st each side = 23 sts. When leg measures 7 cm work 2 rows garter st with 2 threads Vienna and cast off. Work left leg in the same way. Sew the inside of legs and sew trousers tog mid back inside 1 edge st. st. Fold the top 2 cm double towards wrong side and fasten (leave an opening) and thread an elastic through. Scarf: Cast on 6 sts on needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Vienna and 1 thread Babyull. Work approx 40 cm garter st and cast off. Mittens: Cast on 24 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Babyull and work rib, K1/P1, for 2 cm. Change to needle size 5 mm and continue with 1 thread Babyull and 1 thread Vienna, at the same time K2 tog across the first row = 12 sts. Work 9 rows garter st, cut the thread and pull through sts (= top of mitten). Fold mitten double and sew tog at the side. Hat: Cast on 40 sts on needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Vienna and 1 thread Babyull and work garter st. After 16 rows K tog every 7th and 8th st across the row (= 5 dec sts) = 35 sts left on row. Work 5 rows garter st. On next row K tog every 6th and 7th st = 30 sts left on row. Work 3 rows. On next row K tog every 5th and 6th st = 25 sts on row. Work 3 rows. On next row K tog every 4th and 5th st = 15 sts on row. Work 3 rows. On next row K tog every 3rd and 4th st = 10 sts on row. Work 3 rows. On next row K tog every other and 3rd st = 5 sts on row. Cut the thread and pull through remaining 5 sts. Sew hat tog at the side in the outer loops of sts. |
