Gr, nelleke

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE/DECREASE TIP (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase/decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on needle (e.g. 92 stitches) and divide by the number of increases/decreases to be made (e.g. 8) = 11.5. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after alternately each 11th and 12th stitch. On the next row work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. When decreasing, knit together alternately each 10th and 11th and each 11th and 12th stitch. RAGLAN: Increase to raglan in each transition between body and sleeves as follows: Work until there is 1 stitch left before marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs to leave holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. There are a total of 8 stitches increased on each increase-round. INCREASE TIP (for sleeves): Work until there is 1 stitch left before marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. STRIPES (for sleeves): 1½ cm with white. 2 cm with light mint. 1½ cm with white. 2 cm with light mint. 7 cm with white. 2 cm with light mint. 1½ cm with white. Then work with light mint to finished length. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The yoke and body are worked in the round with circular needle from mid back, top down. The sleeves are worked in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles, top down. YOKE: Cast on 92-96-100-108-112-112 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and light mint. Knit 1 round. Then work rib (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 2 cm. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and knit 1 round where you increase 8-4-8-8-4-4 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 100-100-108-116-116-116 stitches. Work the next row, at the same time inserting 4 marker threads in the piece as follows: Knit 18-18-20-22-22-22 (= half back piece), insert first marker thread here, knit 14 (= sleeve), insert second marker thread here, knit 36-36-40-44-44-44 (= front piece), insert third marker thread here, knit 14 (= sleeve), insert fourth marker thread here and knit the remaining 18-18-20-22-22-22 stitches (= half back piece). Continue with stocking stitch – AT THE SAME TIME on the first round increase to RAGLAN in each transition between body and sleeves – read description above. Continue increasing to raglan every 2nd round a total of 27-30-31-34-37-41 times on each side of all 4 marker threads. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After the last increase there are 316-340-356-388-412-444 stitches on the needle and the piece measures approx. 21-23-24-26-28-31 cm from the cast-on edge mid back. Continue working without further increases until the piece measures 22-24-25-28-29-33 cm. The next round is worked as follows: Work 45-48-51-56-61-67 stitches as before (= half back piece), place the next 68-74-76-82-84-88 stitches on 1 thread for sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-12-12-16 new stitches on needle (= in side under sleeve), work 90-96-102-112-122-134 stitches (= front piece), place the next 68-74-76-82-84-88 stitches on 1 thread for sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-12-12-16 new stitches on needle (= in side under sleeve) and work the remaining 45-48-51-56-61-67 stitches as before (= half back piece). Body and sleeves are finished separately. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 196-212-228-248-268-300 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch. When the piece measures 29-29-30-29-30-28 cm from the division, knit 1 round where you increase 40-44-48-52-56-64 stitches evenly spaced = 236-256-276-300-324-364 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm and work rib (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 2 cm. Loosely cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with needle size 4 mm. The jumper measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVE: Place the 68-74-76-82-84-88 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-10-12-12-12-16 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 76-84-88-94-96-104 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 8-10-12-12-12-16 stitches under the sleeve and allow it to follow your work onwards; it will be used when increasing mid under sleeve. Start the round by the marker thread and work stocking stitch in the round. When the piece measures 7 cm from the division increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 2½-3-2½-3-2½-3 cm a total of 12-10-11-10-11-9 times = 100-104-110-114-118-122 stitches. AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 19-17-17-15-14-12 cm work STRIPES – read description above. Continue working until the sleeve measures 42-40-40-38-37-34 cm from the division – or to desired length (shorter measurements in larger sizes due to longer yoke). Knit 1 round where you decrease 4-0-6-2-6-2 stitches evenly spaced - remember INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 96-104-104-112-112-120 stitches. Work 1 round where all stitches are knitted together 2 and 2 = 48-52-52-56-56-60 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm and work rib (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 5 cm. Loosely cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with needle size 4 mm. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
