How to have enough thread when you cast on

In this DROPS video we show an easy way to find out how to have enough thread when you cast up (continental method). Wrap the thread as many times around the knitting needle as many stitch number your work need. Have approx. 10 cm thread end at the beginning to hold on (we also tie a knot to mark exactly how much thread it is left when you finish cast on).

In the video we wrap around/cast on 16 stitches with DROPS Eskimo from Garnstudio, then 40 stitches with a thinner thread, DROPS Cotton Merino from Garnstudio.
