Hi Sue, you knit two rows in garter and dec on the first of these two not to interfer with the berry pattern and do dec at the same time as working the pattern. On the second dec you will have to knit 3 tog in between knitting 2 tog to be able to dec 36 sts. This is how the hat was done. Hope it works out.

I love this pattern! I noticed, though, that the second decrease might be wrong. The pattern says to "dec 36 sts on the first round = 20 sts left." Since this round only has 56 stitches to start with, you can't decrease 36 sts without knitting more than 2 tog at a time, which would probably interfere with the berry pattern . The most you can decrease is 28 sts, if you "knit all sts tog 2 by 2". The final decrease of "knit all sts tog 2 by 2" will then equal 14 sts, not 10 sts.

Jag undrar hur man bär sig åt för att sticka björnbärsmönster efter 12 cm och minskningarna - maskantalet som är kvar, 24 st på varje maska, stämmer inte med mönstret?

NECK WARMER: Knitting Tension: 10 sts x 14 rows on needles size 9 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Increasing tips: Inc from the RS by making a yo after knitted st. On the return row knit into back of st to avoid making a hole. Make the next inc before the K st to alternate the inc to the left and the right of the P sts. Knitted back and forth on needle from the top down. Cast on 43 sts on needle size 9 mm with Snow. Knit first row as follows from the RS: *K1, P2*, repeat from *-* and finish with K1. Continue like this. When piece measures 12 cm inc all P2 to P3 (seen from the RS) – see Increasing tips = 57 sts. After 2 rows inc all P3 to P4 = 71 sts. Repeat the inc of P sts on every 4th row 3 times = 113 sts. Cast off loosely when piece measures 22 cm. Sew piece tog in the outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam. Crochet borders: Crochet along the bottom edge with crochet hook size 10 mm and 2 threads Vienna as follows: 1 dc in first st, *2 ch, skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc in next st*, repeat from *-* and finish with 2 ch and 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round. Crochet a similar border along the top edge, but with 1 ch between each dc (instead of 2). HAT: Knitting Tension: 12 sts x 10 rows on needles size 9 mm in berry pattern = 10 x 10 cm. 12 sts x 16 rows on circular needle size 7 mm in garter sts = 10 x 10 cm Garter sts (on circular needle): *K 1st round, P 2nd round*. Repeat from *-*. Berry pattern: When knitting this pattern round on double pointed needles the RS of the pattern will be on the inside of the piece. The pattern is divisible by 4. 1st round: Purl 2nd round: *K 3 sts in the same st as follows: K1, P1, K1; then P3 tog*, repeat from *-*. 3rd round: Purl 4th round: *P3 tog, K 3 sts in same st as follows: K1, P1, K1*, repeat from *-*. Cast on 60 sts on circular needle size 7 mm with Snow and knit 8 rounds garter sts – see above. Knit 1 round in stocking sts, at the same time inc 36 sts evenly on round = 96 sts. Change to double pointed needles size 9 mm and insert a marking thread at the beg of round (= mid back). Now continue in berry pattern – see above. NB! Make sure to beg each round right after the MT in order that the pattern fits. When piece measures 12 cm knit 2 rounds in garter sts, at the same time dec 40 sts evenly on the 1st round = 56 sts. Continue in in berry pattern until piece measures 16 cm. Knit 2 rounds in garter sts, at the same time dec 36 sts on the first round = 20 sts left. Continue in berry pattern until piece measures 20 cm. Now knit all sts tog 2 by 2 = 10 sts. Cut the thread and pull through remaining sts. Sew. Turn the hat inside out to get the pattern on the RS. |
