How to purl 3 stitches together (P3 tog)

In this DROPS video we show how to decrease by purling 3 stitches together (P3 tog).

We show 2 versions of purling together. You can just purl 3 sts together, but if that is too difficult, you can also do it as follows; P2, pull 2nd st on right needle over 1st, P1 and pull the other st over the first again. The result will be the same.

Version werden einfach die ersten beiden Maschen links abgekettet, dadurch ist die verbleibende Masche nicht mittig und es entsteht ein Loch. Die ersten beiden Maschen dürfen nicht gestrickt, sondern nur abgehoben und über die 3. gestrickte Masche gezogen werden, damit das Ergebnis zur 1. Version identisch ist.

DROPS Design :

Dear Mrs Dawson, to dec 2 sts at the beg or end of a seed st row work the first / last 3 sts tog in seed st, ie at beg of row if next st after dec should be K you will have to P the first 3 sts tog - if this st should be P, you will have to K the first 3 sts tog - then continue K over P and P over K - at the end of row, if the 4th st from the end is a P st, work the next 3 sts K tog - if it is a K st, work the next 3 sts P tog. In this DROPS video we show how to decrease 2 stitches towards left and 2 stitches towards right with 2-coloured English rib from the wrong side –back and fort.
