Hei!

Hi, The instructions on the back piece says: Place the 101-109-118-128-141-153 stitches from the stitch holder on circular needle size 4 mm and work in the same way as the front piece. Do I increase stitches for the backpiece as I did for the front piece? For the front piece I switched to 3mm needles for the ribbing, but here for the back piece the instructions are to us 4mm needles. What is correct? Kind Regards, Emmy
30.08.2024 - 11:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Emmy, in the body you were using 4mm needles. The first row of increases in the front piece is worked with these same needles. Then, you change needles for the rib. The same happens for the back piece; you start with the 4mm needles and then change to 3mm needles for the rib. Happy knitting!

Buonasera Francesca, deve semplicemente usare 2 ferri all'avvio invece che uno. Provi a guardare questo video. Buon lavoro!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked twisted on the next round to avoid a hole. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles. DOUBLE NECK: Cast on 100-104-110-116-120-126 stitches with colour light sea green DROPS Sky, using short circular needles, sizes 3 and 4 mm, held together. Remove the 4 mm needle keeping stitches on the needle 3 mm (this gives you an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 12 cm. Fold the neck double to the inside and work 1 more round of rib, working every 4th stitch together with its corresponding stitch on the cast-on edge. You now have a double neck. Knit 1 round and increase 5-6-10-14-20-24 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 105-110-120-130-140-150 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the round (mid-front), the yoke is measured from this marker. The round starts mid-back. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Work stocking stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the yoke measures 1-1-2-2-3-4 cm from the marker, work A.1, 21-22-24-26-28-30 times in width on the round. On the last round in A.1 (marked with an arrow) increase 7-16-16-26-26-24 stitches evenly spaced = 322-346-376-416-446-474 stitches. When A.1 is finished, the piece measures approx. 20-20-21-21-22-23 cm from the marker mid front. Continue with stocking stitch and colour light sea green until the yoke measures 21-22-23-24-25-27 cm from the marker. Now divide for the body and sleeves: Knit 46-50-54-59-64-69 (half back piece), place the next 68-72-80-90-94-98 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 93-101-108-118-129-139 (front piece), place the next 68-72-80-90-94-98 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit the last 47-51-54-59-65-70 stitches (half back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. The piece is now measured from here! BODY: = 202-218-236-256-282-306 stitches. Insert 1 marker-thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches cast on under each sleeve (used when dividing for the split in each side). Start at one marker-thread and continue the stocking stitch for a further 20-21-22-23-24-24 cm. Now divide the piece: Keep the first 101-109-118-128-141-153 stitches on the needle. Place the other stitches on a stitch holder. FRONT PIECE: = 101-109-118-128-141-153 stitches. Knit 1 row from the right side and increase 20-22-23-27-28-32 stitches evenly spaced = 121-131-141-155-169-185 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib as follows from the wrong side: 1 GARTER STITCH – read description above, * purl 1, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, purl 1 and 1 garter stitch. Continue this rib for 7 cm, cast off. The jumper measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm from the shoulder. BACK PIECE: Place the 101-109-118-128-141-153 stitches from the stitch holder on circular needle size 4 mm and work in the same way as the front piece. SLEEVES: Place the 68-72-80-90-94-98 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 76-80-90-100-106-112 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker thread and continue with stocking stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 3-2-2-2-2-4 cm, decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 2½-2½-2-1½-1½-1 cm a total of 12-13-16-21-21-24 times = 52-54-58-58-64-64 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 36-35-35-34-33-32 cm from the division. Knit 1 round and increase 12 stitches evenly spaced = 64-66-70-70-76-76 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm and work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 7 cm. Cast off. The sleeve measures approx. 43-42-42-41-41-39 cm from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
