GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. DECREASE TIP: (applies to armholes and neckline): All dec are done from RS, dec on the inside of 5 sts in garter st at armhole and 5 sts in garter st at neckline. Dec AFTER 5 sts as follows: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. Dec BEFORE 5 sts as follows: K 2 tog. -------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 56-62-70-80-86-94 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 with Nepal. Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above - over all sts. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 8-8-9-9-10-10 cm / 3⅛"-3⅛"-3½"-3½"-4"-4", inc 1 st in each side, repeat inc every 2 cm / ¾" a total of 6-6-5-6-6-5 times = 68-74-80-92-98-104 sts. When piece measures 22-23-24-25-26-27 cm / 8¾"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝", bind off the outermost 3-4-5-6-8-9 sts in each side for armhole (bind off at beg of the next 2 rows) = 62-66-70-80-82-86 sts. Continue in garter st - AT THE SAME TIME on next row from RS, dec 1 st in each side inside 5 sts in garter st - SEE DECREASE TIP! Repeat dec on every other row a total of 2-4-5-10-10-10 times = 58-58-60-60-62-66 sts. When piece measures 38-40-42-44-46-48 cm / 15"-15¾"-16½"-17¼"-18"-19", bind off the middle 14-14-16-16-18-18 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. On next row from neck, dec 1 st at beg of row = 21-21-21-21-21-23 sts on each shoulder. When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm / 15¾"-16½"-17¼"-18"-19"-19¾", bind off all sts. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 28-31-35-40-43-47 sts (includes 1 edge st in the side) on needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 and work in garter st over all sts. When piece measures 8-8-9-9-10-10 cm / 3⅛"-3⅛"-3½"-3½"-4"-4", inc 1 st in the side, repeat inc every 2 cm / ¾" a total of 6-6-5-6-6-5 times = 34-37-40-46-49-52 sts on needle. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When piece measures 22-23-24-25-26-27 cm / 8¾"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝", bind off 3-4-5-6-8-9 sts in the side for armhole (bind off at beg of row). On next row from RS, dec 1 st in the side inside 5 sts in garter st - SEE DECREASE TIP. Repeat dec every RS row a total of 2-4-5-10-10-10 times. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 25-26-27-28-29-30 cm / 9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-11"-11⅜"-11¾", beg dec for neck from RS: Dec 1 st inside 5 sts, repeat dec on every other row a total of 5 times and then on every 4th row a total of 3-3-4-4-5-5 times. After dec for neck and armhole, 21-21-21-21-21-23 sts remain on needle for shoulder. When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm / 15¾"-16½"-17¼"-18"-19"-19¾", bind off all sts. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Work as left front piece but reversed. ASSEMBLY: Sew or graft shoulder seams from RS with neat stitches. Sew the side seams inside 1 edge st. Crochet two ties. TIES: Work ties from the neck on one of the front pieces with hook size 3.5mm/E/4 and Nepal. Start with 1 sc in outermost st where bind off for neck beg. Work one ch-row until row measures approx. 25 cm / 9¾". Now work a cone at the end of the ch-row. Form a ring with 1 sl st in 4th ch from hook, this is the top of the cone. 1st round: 4 sc in ch-ring. 2nd round: 2 sc in every sc = 8 sc. 3rd round: * 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 12 sc. 4th-6th round: 1 sc in every sc = 12 sc. 7th round: * 1 sc in first sc, then crochet 2 sc tog *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 8 sc. 8th round: 1 sc in every sc = 8 sc. 9th round: Work all sc tog 2 by 2 = 4 sc. Cut the yarn, baste it up and down through sts, pull the yarn to tighten and fasten tightly. Work another tie on the other front piece. |
