DROPS Yarn Groups

DROPS Yarn is divided into yarn groups according to the thickness of the strand and the knitting tension.
Yarn Group A is the thinnest yarn and Yarn Group F is the thickest yarn.

Within each of these yarn groups, the yarns can be exchanged and used for the same patterns. Different yarns have different textures – which can give you new and exciting mixes :)

DROPS yarns are spun so the thickness of the strands fit each other. Using more than one strand from one yarn group gives you access to patterns in other yarn groups. Scroll to the bottom of the page for an overview of possible combinations.

When changing yarns the number of balls needed will also change, due to the meterage (50 gram = X metres) varying from one yarn to another - read more about how to change one yarn for another here.

Changing yarns from one group to another:

DROPS yarns are spun so the thickness of the strands fit each other.

By using more than one strand from one yarn group, you can work patterns designed for other yarn groups.
