Raglan decrease crochet working bottom up

In this DROPS video we show you how to work a raglan decrease on a crochet jacket like in DROPS 151-37. The piece is worked bottom up and we start by showing how to gather the different pieces working; right front piece, sleeve, back piece, sleeve and left front piece. Hereafter we show the placing of the markers that mark each raglan transition, and then we show two rows of raglan decreases; one working with dc’s and one with sc’s. We work back and forth on this video, but the technique is the same if you work in the round. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern and diagram to be able to follow. Sie sollen dann immer die schriftliche Anleitung/Erklärungen lesen sowie das Diagramm (wenn es ein gibt) gleichzeitig folgen. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Bonjour Mme Equey, nos vidéos sont muettes, nos vidéos sont regardées dans le monde entier et tout le monde ne comprendrait pas le français, c'est la raison pour laquelle nous avons opté pour des explications écrites à suivre en même temps que la vidéo. Bon crochet!

When working a raglan yoke top down you increase on specific places on the yoke creating a raglan line in each transition between body and sleeves. In this DROPS video we show how you can do this. We work back and forth on this video, but the technique is the same if you work in the round. We have placed 4 markers on the row and we increase by each marker working 2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc around the ch-space. In the second row we show how to work the sleeves after the yoke is finished and in the third row we show how to work dc in the ch under each sleeve. In this DROPS video we show you how to continue with the body and under sleeve after completing a round yoke. In the video we work as follows: work the dc on left front piece, 4 ch = under sleeve, dc on back piece, 4 ch = under sleeve and finishing with dc on right front piece. In the second row we show how to work dc around the ch under each sleeve. At the end we show how to start working around the armhole to start on a top down sleeve. In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a square heel. The stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows (the heel extends under the foot): 1) The heel is worked back and forth across the heel-stitches to achieve the correct height. For this type of heel, the length reaches midway under the heel. 2) Next, the heel is knitted together beneath the foot. 3) The sock is then continued in the round, with stitches picked up along both sides of the heel length, working towards the toe. 4) This heel creates a square shape, which is why this type of heel is known as a square heel.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show a brief overview of how to knit a garment with an European yoke, where the neck is finished after the stitches for the sleeves are picked up. The garment is worked as follows, according to these 5 steps: 1) BACK PIECE: Cast on stitches for the back of the neckline and work the back piece top down, at the same time as increasing each side until you have reached the correct shoulder-width. The back piece has slightly diagonal shoulders. 2) FRONT PIECE: The front piece is worked in 2 pieces (each side of the neck). Start by knitting up stitches along one shoulder on the back piece. Work the front piece top down, at the same time as increasing for the neckline. Repeat for the second front piece along the other back shoulder. 3) YOKE: On the next row, place all stitches on the same circular needle as follows: Work across one front piece, pick up stitches for the sleeve along the side of the front piece, work across the back piece, pick up stitches for the sleeve along the side of the second front piece, work across the second front piece. The yoke is continued back and forth across all stitches, with the rows starting and ending mid-front. 4) INCREASE FOR NECK, BODY AND SLEEVES: While working the yoke, begin by increasing only for the neckline and sleeves, then subsequently for both the body and sleeves. Once the final increase for the neckline is done, the 2 front pieces are joined mid-front and the piece is continued in the round. 5) BODY AND SLEEVES: When all the increases are finished and the yoke has been worked to the correct length, it is divided for the body and sleeves. The body is continued in the round with a circular needle, top down, while the sleeves wait.
