Make a boa, fun to make, fun to wear!
Use a fury yarn, maybe a mohair yarn, use 2 strands, variegated... lots of options.
Cut a U-shape piece of cardboard.
Make a loop with the thinner yarn and lay it in the center. Wind the thick yarn around cardboard in a figure 8. Pull up the thin loop and finger crochet 1 ch around the thicker yarn where it intersects. Make a new figure 8 thick yarn and finger crochet with the second loop. Continue like this. When the template is full, pull off figure 8's, and then continue. When desired length cut both yarns.

In this DROPS video we show how to make a knot to be attached as a decoration to a Santa that is worked on a sweater. The same technique is also used to make a star at the top of a Christmas tree sweater. KNOT: Make a knot at the top of every Santa hat/ Christmas tree. Tie the knot around a stitch. Cut 2 lengths of color off white. approx. 10 cm = 4". Place strands together, use a needle and pull strands through the top off white stitch so that both yarn ends are on the right side of piece, on each side of stitch. Tie a knot, then tie another knot but in the opposite direction. Cut the yarn ends approx. ½ cm = 1/8" (Santa) / 1 cm = 2/8" (Christmas tree) long.
