Cable

When you make cables you switch positions of the stitches. The more stitches that are moved the wider cable.
In the video we make a cable turning to the left, by putting the stitches to be moved on a cable needle in front of work. Next cable turn to the right and then the stitches are put on a cable needle behind the work. The stitches on each side of the cable are being purled on the RS and knit on WS. Then the cables that are worked in stockinette become more visible.

Our videos do not have sound. We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people speaking endless of different languages and many do not understand English. So since there is not a given language for us to use, we instead have written instructions to accompany the video, and then there is no sound to disturb while watching.

Bonjour mimi et merci. Le croisement des mailles s'effectue uniquement sur les rangs indiqués dans le diagramme (tous les 2, 4, 6 etc... rangs en fonction du modèle). Sur les autres rangs, les mailles se tricotent comme elles se présentent (jersey end pour les mailles de la torsade, jersey env - ou autre en fonction du modèle - sur les autres mailles).

We work 3 garter stitches in each side and we have already worked 17 rows of the chart so you can see the cables better. We start the by working the 18th row. On this row the cables are worked like this: Put 3 stitches on cable needle behind the work, knit 3, knit 3 from cable needle. On row 20 and 22 work 1st and 3rd cables like this: Put 1 stitch on a cable needle behind the work, knit 3, purl 1 from the cable needle. And 2nd and 4th cables are worked like this: Put 3 stitches on a cable needle in front of work, purl 1, knit 3 from cable needle This dog coat is worked in DROPS Karisma, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. In this DROPS video we show how we work loops that will be a cable that is used in the slippers in DROPS 203-35. We have already worked 7 loops and in the video we work 4 rows that will be a loop, we cast on and bind off. Then we show how to work an open loop and finish the knitting. In this DROPS video we show how we work a cable a little bit out of the ordinary. Cast on a number of stitches multiple by 9+2 + 2 (= 1 edge stitch on each side). We have cast on 18+2 +2 (=1 edge stitch in each side). Knit the edge stitches in each row. ROW 1 (right side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, knit 2, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 1, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * knit 2, purl 2, put the thread in front of the work and lift the 7 next stitches to the right needle, purl 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, knit 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 3: Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, slip the 2 next stitches of the left needle (put them back), put the 3 next stitches on the right needle, put the 2 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 3 stitch on the right needle back to the left needle and knit these twisted together, knit 3, slip the next 3 stitch from the left needle (put them in front), put the next 2 stitch on the right needle, put the 3 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 2 stitches on right needle back to left needle, knit 2, knit 3 twisted together *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch.
