See diagrams A.1 to A.4.

At beginning of every round with double crochet replace first double crochet with 3 chain stitches. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round.

Work in the round top down. Work 4 chain stitches on hook size 3.5 mm/E/4 with Paris and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. READ CROCHET INFO! Work * A.1, A.2 * repeat from *-* 6 times in total in width. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! When A.1 and A.2 have been worked vertically, there are 90 double crochet on last round. Then work 1st round in A.3. Repeat this round until piece measures 16 cm / 6 1/4''. Then work last round in A.3.

Remember CROCHET INFO! Work A.4 10 times in total in width. When A.4 has been worked vertically, there are 160 double crochet on last round. Fasten off.

Cut 2 lengths Bomull-Lin of 4 metres/4½ yds each. Twine the strands tog until they resist, fold the string double so that it twines again. Make a knot at each end. Thread tie up and down through last eyelet row and tie a knot.

All measurements in charts are in cm.

= work 4 chain stitches, form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch - see black dot on circle, round begins and ends here
= 1 chain stitch
= 1 double crochet in stitch
= 1 double crochet around chain stitch/chain space
= 1 slip stitch
= this round has already been worked, begin on next round
= work the next 2 double crochet together as follows: Work 1 double crochet but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), then work next double crochet but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook (= 1 double crochet decreased)

Marie Davis 31.05.2017 - 05:37:

178-42 i can't understand the pattern. i can read patterns and understand diagrams a bit. But i am unable to follow either here. The diagram does not tell me how many stitches are in each row. if the stitch count were provided at row 1, i might can understand the rest of it. thank you

DROPS Design 31.05.2017 kl. 08:39:

Dear Mrs Davis, each symbol represents 1 st/group of st. You are working A.1,A.2 a total of 6 times in width so that when there are 2 sts in diagrams, you will have 2 sts x 6 = 12 sts at the end of this round. Remember your DROPS store will provide you any kind of individual assistance. Happy crocheting!

Araceli 06.05.2017 - 17:41:
